ESEARCH ACTIVITY AND PUBLICATIONSIn April 2007 Dr. Tortora joined the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa, Italy, focusing his activity on medical robotics and biomechatronic systems. His main research interests are in the field of medical robotics, mechatronics systems and minimally invasive robotic surgery.
- Studies and developments of robotic and biomechatronic systems able to be wireless
controlled inside the human body to perform endoscopy, therapy and surgery;
- Study and development of innovative systems for capsular endoscopy in the
gastrointestinal tract;
- Robotic system for minimally invasive surgery and NOTES;
- Development and analysis of artificial systems for new therapies delivery
