Description of site and clients: The ARF is a locked facility providing detoxification and assessment services to adults 18 and over who are experiencing withdrawal symptoms which require medical management. The ARF is a Marchman facility, accepting involuntary as well as voluntary clients. Individual, crisis, and group counseling are offered, as well as psychosocial assessments for all clients. Program provides a multi-disciplinary approach to early treatment of addiction, including extensive medical interventions as well as clinical interventions.

Description of site and clients: CENTAUR provides substance abuse and mental health counseling to individuals who are infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Individual, familly/couples, and group counseling are offered . Housing for homeless men with HIV is provided at the Michigan Street location. Interns typically provide serves at both locations. Clients are individuals with significant life problems including mental health issues as well as social, financial, substance abuse, and physical health concerns.

Description of site and clients: FWHH is a residential juvenile justice program for adolescent girls with substance use and co-occuring disorders. Average length of stay is 6 months or more. Individual, group, and family counseling is provided. Many of the clients have trauma and abuse issues, as well as significant legal, family, educational, and social problems. Treatment is gender-specific. Motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy are primary treatment models. Clients participate in school and recreational activities on site as well. Clients can look for work after 30 days with staff approval. Individual, group, and family therapy are provided. Emphasis placed on early recovery and relapse prevention after discharge. Residential treatment services for adolescents age 13 - 17 with substance use and co-occurring disorders are provided. Average length of stay is 90 - 120 days. Clients attend school on site. Individual, group, and family counseling are offered to all clients. The program incorporates experiential therapy (ropes course, outdoor activities, etc…) into design. Primary treatment approach is motivational interviewing with cognitive behavioral therapy.

Special consideration or needs of site (50 words max):

Many of the youth in the program have experienced trauma. Some are in the foster care system. Some have been involved in human trafficking and other types of victimization.

Description of site and clients: Kids House Wayne Densch Children’s Advocacy Center aids children by providing all

necessary services for abuse cases from reporting and investigation through treatment and prosecution. Our Mental Health Program provides therapy to children who have been victims of physical and sexual abuse as well as neglect and witness to severe domestic violence. We also see non-offending caretakers and siblings as necessary. Interns provide individual therapy with caretakers, co-therapy with children in individual, group and family treatment and may gradually work individually with children.
