About

Grand St.

Settlement

OUR MISSION

OUR IMPACT

Since our founding in 1916, Grand St. Settlement has been building and supporting a community of

opportunity and possibility for low-income individuals and families. We serve over 10,000 New Yorkers on both sides of the Williamsburg Bridge by providing a continuum of programs for all ages.

Each year, Grand St. Settlement raises millions of dollars to support diverse communities in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, along with a growing number of Brooklyn neighborhoods. For many New Yorkers we are a second home that nurtures stability, strength, and upward mobility.

Our services are rooted in our founding belief:

all members of the community have the

power to help their neighbors, enriching our

own lives and the fabric of our communities.

We are proud to present the

Fifteen in ‘15:

JUMPstart CHANGE AWARDS

to 15 community builders,

advocates, TLES chefs, and

members of the Grand St.

Settlement family who

empower neighbors

,

support the community,

and

galvanize change

.

These awards celebrate the spirit of Juniors Undertaking Manhattan’s Possibilities (JUMP!), our program that matches youth with young

professionals volunteering as mentors. The founding members of JUMP! also created TLES as a way to support their beloved program.

Taste of the Lower East Side® (TLES) features expertly crafted dishes and specialty cocktails from a long list of the hottest restaurants in the Lower East Side. TLES presents an opportunity to expose your brand to a large, receptive audience of influential and

philanthropic individuals.

Over the past 14 years, TLES has brought together more than 154 chefs and restaurants, 200 community partners and sponsors, and over 20,000 people – all united in their desire to make the Lower East Side a community filled with possibilities for everyone. Proceeds from this event benefit a multiplicity of programs and services Grand St. Settlement provides to over 10,000 New Yorkers in the communities we serve.
