School of Nursing and Health Sciences: Health care has changed immeasurably since Florence Nightingale’s leadership turned caring for the wounded and sick into a profession. The School’s goal is to establish a caring, diverse academic learning environment that provides the highest standards of education in the rapidly changing world of health care. The School’s total enrollment has steadily increased by close to 40 percent from 2011 to 2015. This trend continues for 2016.

Nursing is housed in the 13,600 square foot Blanton Nursing Building, which was built in 2009 and expanded twice to meet the needs of a growing program. Students enhance their clinical skills in the treatment simulation laboratory, part of this high-tech facility, which includes wireless classrooms, a technologically advanced nursing skills lab, faculty offices and student and faculty lounges.

Each health sciences course at Florida Southern College provides a quality, personalized learning experience and experienced faculty. FSC’s faculty combines academic training with extensive hands-on knowledge of the health care field. The effectiveness of their faculty to teach and inspire their students is based on the fact that they understand the ever-changing requirements for success facing health care leaders and managers.
