Use your favorite Minecraft® characters to create your own animated short film! Bring your favorite Minecraft® characters to life in an animated short film! Learn how studios like Pixar and Disney make movies like Inside Out and Frozen by using tech-niques like keyframing, tweening, texturing, and animating rigged 3D models! Dive into making your own apps, just like the ones you’d see on the App Store!

Using a specialized app and game develop-ment tool, students will explore the world of web-based (HTML5) mobile apps. In ad-dition to learning the basics of mobile app design and game development, you will also see firsthand how the world of app publish-ing functions. Student-created apps will be accessible on a private site and can be played on any mobile device or computer. No prior experience is necessary and students do not need to own a smartphone or tablet to take the class.

In this LEGO® adventure, YOU are the star! Pick your favorite LEGO® genre or create an alternate universe to create a digital il-lustrated story. Whether you want to fight alongside Batman, be part of a Ninjago clan, hang with Ninja Turtles, or go into space with the Bionicles, the only requirement is that you put yourself in the story! VIDEO GAME ANIMATION

Dive into making sprites move around and animate in a video game!

Take your game design to the next level by creating and animating your own character sprites, objects, and backgrounds. Start with a name, develop the character’s personality, signature moves, special powers, and a story line. Finish with a fully animated character to be used in future games. Students do not need any prior experience in game design, animation, or sketching. Student-created animations will be available on a password protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family.

Calling all future coders, programmers, & de-signers! Learn the basics of coding languag-es like HTML, JavaScript, and CSS through a series of web projects and design challenges each day, and be on your way to becoming the next tech star! Whether you want to be the next Mark Zuckerberg, or the high school student who just made $1 million dollars for programming in his bedroom, this course has the essentials you need to begin your journey. Continue your quest to make the next viral app! Whether you want to move past the basic techniques learned in App Attack or want to jump right in, we are ready for you! In partnership with Liberty Science Center, get hands-on experience in the human biolo-gy field. In this four day course, you will take part in activities and experiments includ-ing actual dissections. Learn about careers within the medical field of human biology.

CSI FORENSIC

INVESTIGATIONS

Recommended Ages: 9-14

Get hands-on experience in field of Forensic Science! Investigate a mock crime scene and learn about evidence collection and investi-gation. In partnership with Liberty Science Center, participate in experiments, and learn how to identify and use basic tools and tech-nology to extend exploration in conjunction with science investigations.

*Please note these classes will take place in our North Hudson Campus.

FUTURE TECH

Robotics, Dimensional Printing, and Al-ternative Energy for a Changing World In partnership with PicoTurbine, a green en-ergy education company, this four day STEM course has you take part in projects that will feed your scientific mind. Learn how science is evolving from professionals within the growing field of science education, robotics, and sustainable energy. Students will have an opportunity to program their own mini robots, and will even have a chance to race their robots to the finish line.

Recommended Ages: 9-15

Want to create delectable pies, cookies, muffins, and more? Come join us in this all–day baking class. Learn the basics of cake baking, icing and decorating, piping methods, and other techniques. Participants will receive an introduction to working in a professional kitchen and to a career in the pastry industry. *Please note all students

must wear flat, close toed shoes.

Recommended Ages: 9-15

Participants will discover what it takes to make it in the fast paced and ever-growing culinary and hospitality field, including the ins and outs of working in professional, state-of-the-art kitchens. Activities include learning about food safety and sanitation, ingredient pairings, menu planning and more. Students can look forward to preparing delicious meals, how to care for tools, and many more secrets of the trade.

COLLEGE READINESS

Recommended Ages: 14-17

Writing skills are more important than ever in today’s competitive career market. This class will introduce college writing themes across all levels of texts, including informa-tional, narrative, argumentative, and persua-sive writing. A focus on grammar, punctua-tion usage, inferences, and context clues will be integrated into all writing areas. Pre and post-writing assessments will be used to evaluate students’ progress.

Whether you are a photo hobbyist or an aspiring photo journalist, this class is for you. Photo Journalists are freelance pho-tographers who add color and emotion to pictures. Learn how to take photographs, prepare audio to accompany video segments and edit photographs through Photoshop. Tuition: $149

FASHION DESIGN

Recommended Ages: 9-15

In this class students will learn how to use a commercial sewing pattern to sew a pair of pajama bottoms, a unique skirt, and a tote bag. This is the perfect class for anyone who loves clothes or fashion design! This class is suitable for beginners, as well as those with some sewing experience. In addition to learning the basics, students will be taught how to re-design their commercial pattern to create a one of a kind unique design.

*Sewing machines will be provided, how-ever students can bring their own person-al machines as well.

TAKING SKILLS

Recommended Ages: MS and HS Students Get a jumpstart on the SAT test and impress those college recruiters with this intensive test preparation program. Learn to use basic problem solving techniques to strengthen your abilities, while avoiding careless mistakes. Test taking skills will be provided, along with test samples from an actual SAT exam.

Note: Students will need to purchase the required SAT book for the first day of class. Textbook information and materials will be provided upon registration.

pay with credit or debit card. Must also submit a Health and Emergency Contact Form for registration to be complete.

Refund Policy Terms:

For programs with 1-2 class meetings, refunds will be issued as follows:

• Completed Drop Request Form received by the Community Education office in person, by email, or by mail at least two business days prior to the scheduled beginning of the class, 100% refund less a $15.00 processing fee will be issued.

• For withdrawals less than two business days prior to the scheduled beginning of the class, no refund will be issued. For programs with 3-6 class meetings, refunds will be issued as follows:

• Completed Drop Request Form received by the Community Education office in person, by email, or by mail at least two business days prior to the first scheduled class, 100% refund less a $15.00 processing fee will be issued.

• Completed Drop Request Form received by the Community Education office in person, by email, or by mail prior to the start of the second scheduled class, 50% refund less a $15.00 processing fee will be issued.

• After the second scheduled class, no refund will be issued.

For programs with 7 or more class meetings, refunds will be issued as follows:

• Completed Drop Request Form received by the Community Education office in person, by email, or by mail prior to the second scheduled class meeting, 100% refund less a $15.00 processing fee will be issued.

• Completed Drop Request Form received by the Community Education office in person, by email, or by mail prior to the third scheduled class meeting, 50% refund less a $15.00 processing fee will be issued.

• After the third scheduled class, no refund will be issued.

No refunds after the second class meeting. All refund requests must be submitted to the Community Education in person,

via fax or email.
