PRE VACCINE ERA ESTIMATED ANNUAL MORBIDITY IN THE US vs. MOST RECENT REPORTS OF CASES IN THE US
The data in this graphic comes from the web site of the CDC, but
a graphic designer in Purchase, N.Y., named Leon Farrant has
created a graphic that drives home what the data means.!
!
The picture to your left looks at the past morbidity (how many
people became sick) of what were once very common infectious diseases, and the current morbidity in the U.S. !
!
There’s no smallpox and no polio, almost no measles, and far less
chickenpox (also known as varicella) and H. influenza (a bacteria that can cause deadly
meningitis).!
!
This should drive home how effective and important the
common childhood
immunizations are to the public’s health.
WHAT IS EBOLA & HOW CAN I
PROTECT MY FAMILY?
Ebola, previously known as Ebola hemorrhagic fever, is a rare and deadly disease caused by infection with one of the Ebola virus strains. Ebola viruses are found in several African
countries. Ebola was first discovered in 1976 near the Ebola River in what is now the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Since then, outbreaks have appeared sporadically in Africa until the recent outbreak effecting and killing thousands.
!
Symptoms of Ebola include a fever of 101.5 or above, diarrhea, vomiting, weakness, joint pain, fatigue, and bleeding.
Very recently this deadly virus reached US soil. So what can you do to protect yourself and your loved ones?
Wash hands frequently with soap and water for 20 seconds. If you do not have access to water, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer
Avoid contact with blood or any bodily fluids of any person, especially someone who is showing signs of sickness
Do not handle items that may have come in contact with an infected person’s blood or bodily fluids If you are showing signs of sickness that you believe may be Ebola related, contact a health professional immediately

Infants, kids and teenagers need well controlled trials to be performed for the medications they take, just like adults do.
Benchmark Research has done pediatric trials for vaccines; like the flu, TDAP, Meningitis and HPV vaccines, as well as medications for asthma, ear infections, colds and more.
!
If you have a child between the ages of 6 months to 17 years, call 1-888-902-9605 to add them to the database.
