CfP Mission

We are pleased to announce that the 3rd annual Applied Research Conference 2013 (ARC 2013) Association will take place on October 17 and 18, 2013 at the Deggendorf University of Applied Sciences. Location details will follow.

Organizing Committee for the Applied Research Conference is now calling for papers to be presented at the 3rd ARC 2013. Students of the Research Master education program from all technical disciplines are invited to attend and present papers related to their research master project and based on the conference theme:

“Applied Research Generates Innovation – Demonstrate it!” The theme will be further subdivided into subject areas.

Our goal is to highlight the importance of research on the involved Bavarian Universities of Applied Sciences.

The conference will comprise of: 1. Paper sessions

2. Guest lectures 3. Poster Session 4. Conference Dinner

Papers Sessions

The paper presentations will be arranged according to subject areas to enable participants from different fields to engage in cross-disciplinary discussions.

Conference theme and subject areas:

“Applied Research Generates Innovation – Demonstrate it!”

Papers are expected to be drawn from all academic technical disciplines including. Papers have to be written in English language and should not extend 7 pages. An ideal paper size is 3-4 pages each. Minimum length is 2 pages.

Different to the style guide: Proceeding format is A4! Guest Lectures

Guest professors and speakers will be invited to share their thoughts and experiences relevant to the conference theme.

Poster Session

There will be a poster session for non-presented papers.

All poster contributions will be included in the conference proceedings similar to oral presentations.

Conference Dinner

We intend to establish a conference dinner with a dinner speech on 17th October 2013 in Deggendorf. Details will follow. The dinner fee will not be included in the free conference registration.

The official language of the conference is English.

Abstracts, paper presentations and all conference materials will be in English. Research master students can be selected to present papers or posters. Session Organization:

1. Each session is arranged as follows; - Session duration: 90 minutes

- Optimal number of paper presentations: 4

- Session format: presentation of individual papers followed by discussion - Presentation duration: not exceeding 22 Minutes

2. The program committee will select proposed papers and will arrange the sessions accordingly. There are presentation talks and poster sessions.

3. The sessions will be arranged according to different areas. This will enable participants from different disciplines to share ideas and to have a deeper understanding of the conference theme.

The planned topics of the technical sessions are:

 Materials  Car technologies  Optical technologies  Power technologies  Measurement techniques  Data networks  Software

 Logistics and process organization

 other topics

Submission Style Templates There is a LaTeX style template.

Alternatively a WORD style template can also be used.

Paper must be submitted in A4-format as a pdf file without headline and page numbers. Acceptance of Abstracts:

1. Abstracts and any accompanying papers should be submitted in English using the Online Registration System at

2. The Conference Committee will send e-mail notification for the acceptance directly to the participants.

The submission of the paper for the proceedings is strictly required for the appreciation.

Copyright agreement

The authors agree with the submission of the pdf file the copyright agreements of the ARC. The conference committee get’s the non exclusive rights for publishing the submitted papers in printed conference proceedings and for later publishing on MAPR-related home pages.
