Who can give the ImPACT test?

Who can interpret the test?

• ImPACT does NOT make a return to play decision, it is a tool that the clinician uses to make the assessment.

Computer Lab Baseline Testing
What is required for baseline testing?
• Baseline testing link / Group admin code
• Name / Date of birth
• No SS# required
What internet connection speed is needed?
• Reliable
• No dial up
• No time out set
ATC Recommendations
• 45 minute blocks (first year).
• Explain the test
• Not an intelligence test
• Want to complete as fast and accurately as possible
• Difficult - not going to get everything right
• Read direction twice before starting test – raise hand with questions
• Take demographic section as a group
• Type the link together

Educate staff / parents

Baseline Testing
•
Minimum interval between baseline tests is 2
years (until the age 19).
•
Review athletes data to determine validity of
baseline test.
• Repeat invalid baseline tests
• If invalid test is missed, simply use normative data during post-concussion evaluation
Common Errors/Fixes
• Forgot password
• Lost password box on results site
• I closed out before the end of the test.
• Must retest, didn’t complete process.
• “Error generating report”
• Logout and back in / Restart
• Name listed twice
• Different spelling or date of birth
• Slowed down stimulus display – email for work around.
