In its long existence Oranjewerf Scheepsreparatie BV has witnessed virtually every aspect of ship repair. Since it was founded in 1949 in the eastern part of the Port of Amsterdam, and with ongoing growth throughout the years, the shipyard has amassed a wealth of experience in the fields of ship repair, renovation, modification and maintenance.

The Oranjewerf is very easy to reach by car from the main roads around Amsterdam and is a 20-minute drive from
Schiphol airport. The picturesque centre of Amsterdam with its famous canals and its many cultural features and places of entertainment is excellently accessible by public transport 24 hours a day.
The vision of the shipyard is that ship repair and renovation should primarily be a case of harmonious collaboration between shipyard, ship owners, personnel and subcontractors. The know-how level of the ship owners and the personnel is often very high. We take the shipping company’s specific know-how and combine it with our specific know-how to tackle the most complex work.
In other words: minor repairs, major repairs, complex jobs, emergency repairs. It is not a problem for the Oranjewerf. We will always find the right solution.

Naturally the Oranjewerf aims to provide optimum service. It does this by striving to achieve the following points, among other things:
• The Oranjewerf employs high-quality personnel. The personnel and the management remain up to date via education and training and in
particular through implementing various types of work. We prepare new and young talent for the future so that they can follow in the footsteps of the experienced “old hands” in the profession.
• There is ongoing investment in innovative technology and machinery and the upgrading of these elements. Only with reliable, modern technologies and machines can we ensure optimum quality, and meet all contracted deadlines.
• There are several permanent subcontractors based at the Oranjewerf, who carry out electrical repairs, pipe-fitting work, propeller repairs, tank cleaning, painting and grit-blasting work. These subcontractors have their own facilities and work sites. A lot of other subcontractors are based in and around the Port of Amsterdam. Virtually all the maritime suppliers have representatives in The Netherlands thanks to the many shipbuilding and port activities in The Netherlands, especially in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
• We always strive for an optimum collaboration with subcontractors and suppliers so that they can provide the optimum service that is expected. Naturally, Oranjewerf uses only reputable subcontractors and suppliers, both those linked to a manufacturer and those that are independent.
• As part of the global Damen Shipyards Group the Oranjewerf can draw on an almost unlimited source of know-how, contacts and information.
Berths 1 - 5 all have permanent connections for electricity, water, air, gas and oxygen. These connections are provided by mobile units for berth 6.
The Oranjewerf has a large machining shop with a full range of machinery. This enables us to carry out a lot of machining work in-house, which means minimum throughput times.
Naturally the shipyard also has an extensive steelwork shop for construction work and repair.
Thanks to these comprehensive facilities the shipyard carries out a lot of work, not only for shipping companies but also for other engineering companies, construction and machine workshops, ranging from simple engineering components as bushes and pins to complex components such as crane parts. The Oranjewerf counts both commercial shipping companies and the
government among its customers, and the shipyard has ample experience in the repair and maintenance of various types of ships, such as:
• offshore vessels • dredgers
• coasters • inland and seagoing barges
• passenger ships • floating cranes
• fishing vessels • tankers
• reefers • ferries
• tugboats • yachts
