Who We Are

In 1958, Joe T. “Tucker” Robison founded Mid-State Electric Supply Company out of the trunk of his car. Working in his father’s Hardware store while growing up, he learned the basic principles of building and operating a successful business: Honesty, Integrity, Product Knowledge and Quality Service. Instilling these principles into his company’s culture, his business has expanded into a group of world class, project oriented companies serving the electric utility, electrical contractor and forestry industries. Crest Industries, LLC is the holding company for these subsidiaries and is a private, closely held, family owned limited liability company. Crest Industries and its subsidiaries have strong financial resources, experienced management teams and second generation succession in place for continued growth and success.

Mid-State Supply Company serves customers across the state of Louisiana by providing products and services to Electrical Contractors, Industrials, Institutions, Government agencies, Utilities and Power line Contractors. We also furnish materials to our customers performing electrical projects around the United States. Whether the job is next door, on the East Coast, West Coast or anywhere in between, Mid-State Supply Company has the systems in place to ensure that our customers have what they need, when they need it, to complete their project on time.

Mid-State Supply Company provides more than just high quality, reliable products. We also provide the services of a highly trained and experienced staff that has a thorough understanding of the electrical industry. From sourcing products for customers to coordinating time-sensitive deliveries and drop shipments to all fifty states, our team knows that they succeed only when our customers succeed.

Systemized Service from Ordering to Billing

Timing is everything in the electrical construction and power industries, especially when it comes to having the materials on site that contractors need at each stage of the project. At Mid-State Supply Company, we have earned a reputation for keeping our customers informed about the status of their orders. Before an order is placed, we work closely with our customers to develop a delivery timeline. Once the order has been placed, we provide our customers with a detailed bill of materials indicating what materials have been ordered, when the order will be shipped and where the order will be delivered. Our customers do not call us looking for their orders. They don’t have to. Our customers are kept informed throughout the entire order cycle process what the exact status is of their specific order.

When the last items on the punch list needs to be completed yesterday, we are simply a phone call away. We will special deliver or overnight those last five widgets that you need to complete the job.

How did we earn this reputation? Simple, we do not just hope that the fax went through, we call to confirm it. We verify that the shipment left the manufacturer when it was scheduled and that delivery will be made when it was promised. At Mid-State Supply Company, our team follows-up and follows-through because our reputation, relationships and business depend on it.

What is AD Clean Energy?

AD’s Clean Energy initiative is focused on three product areas: Energy Efficiency, Renewables and Smart Grid technology. For energy efficiency, the main focus is on lighting solutions and peripheral products. For renewables, AD has partnered with best-in-class solar and wind manufacturers to provide AD independent distributors with quality products, training assistance, and financial and production modeling tools. The smart grid product area includes smart metering and other products involved in communication between the electric grid and consumers.

Efficient energy use, sometimes simply called energy efficiency, is the goal of products and services to reduce the amount of energy required to operate a facility. Products or systems that reduce energy usage.

Renewable energy is energy which comes from natural resources such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, and geothermal heat, which are renewable (naturally replenished).

Smart grids are electricity networks that can intelligently integrate the behavior and actions of all users connected to it in order to efficiently deliver sustainable, economic and secure electricity supplies.

Lighting

Lighting consumes about 40% of the typical warehouse needs. In a manufacturing facility, it’s about 20%. When you consider how electricity costs continue to escalate, better energy management just makes good business sense. We can help you by first taking an energy audit of your facility and then identify opportunities to take advantage of more energy-efficient products. Your annual energy bills could fall by as much as 40% and you could recoup your capital costs in as little as one to two years. You may also be eligible for government rebates and incentives as well.

A few simple ways to reduce your energy consumption:

• Upgrading from a T12 to T8 or T5 fluorescent lamp can save up to 50% in energy costs. • Dimming the lights by just 10% will not only save energy but also more than double the life

expectancy of a lamp.

• Installing occupancy-sensor light switches can reduce energy costs by as much as 50% or more.

• Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL) use about 75% less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs and still produce the same amount of light of the traditional incandescent. They also last anywhere from 4 to 15 times longer and produce 74% less heat.

• High-efficiency electronic ballasts optimize energy savings at a rate of about 2-5 watts per ballast, or about $1 per lamp per year, and are compatible with a wide variety of T8 fluorescent lamps.

• Replacing torpedo bulbs in exit signs with LEDs will save you over $50 per fixture in energy costs each year. Incandescent bulbs require changing every quarter, whereas an LED is good for over 20 years.

(32)

Why Choose ENERGY STAR Qualified LED Lighting?

LED lighting is a rapidly evolving technology that produces light in a whole new way. It is already beginning to surpass the quality and efficiency of existing lighting technologies, such as fluorescent and incandescent — but not all LED lighting is created equal.

The ENERGY STAR is awarded to select fixture types that meet strict efficiency, quality, and lifetime criteria. (Are you a partner?

ENERGY STAR Qualified LED Lighting:

Reduces energy costs— uses at least 75% less energy than incandescent lighting, saving on operating expenses.

Reduces maintenance costs — lasts 35 to 50 times longer than incandescent lighting and about 2 to 5 times longer than fluorescent lighting. No bulb-replacements, no ladders, no ongoing disposal program.

Reduces cooling costs— LEDs produce very little heat.

Is guaranteed— comes with a minimum three-year warranty — far beyond the industry standard.

Offers convenient features — available with dimming on some indoor models and automatic daylight shut-off and motion sensors on some outdoor models.
