Ray Jones
IBM Vice President Worldwide System z Software Sales
Ray Jones is the Vice President of System z Software Worldwide Sales for IBM's Software Group. He has responsibility for IBM’s mainframe middleware software solutions portfolio, including sales and pricing strategies and methodologies, and overall customer relationships and satisfaction. Prior to his current position, he was a member of the core strategic team that created the modern IBM software business, now called IBM Software Group, which continues to be a major contributor to IBM's revenues and profitability. He has also served as Controller for IBM Software Group, and as Chief Financial Officer of the System i and p divisions in IBM's Systems Technology Group. His earlier experience includes IBM executive positions in development, pricing, and marketing. Ray travels extensively to meet with System z clients, and has advised more than 1000 leading companies on mainframe technology, total cost of ownership, and the strategic business value of mainframe solutions for driving competitive advantage.
Ray joined IBM in 1975 as a sales representative in Chicago and worked on the beta test for MVS at Allstate Insurance. When he is not travelling, Ray spends time on his farm in the Boston area

Kelly Ryan is currently the Director of the System product portfolio responsible for managing and delivering the hardware and operating systems in System z from inception through delivery. Previously, Kelly was the Product Development Team (PDT) Leader for the zEnterprise, IBM’s next generation mainframe system. Alain Roy
Montpellier Client Center Industry Showcases
Alain Roy is a Certified IT Architect from the Montpellier Client Center, France. In 1999, after 10 years as an IT Project Manager in charge of IBM's General Ledger, he joined the New Technology Center as an ISV on System z Architect working on solutions such as PeopleSoft, Temenos, Oracle or Curam Software (now IBM owned). He is now in charge of the Insurance Showcase, part of the Montpellier System z Industry Showcases team, hosting the Smarter Banking and Intelligent Operation Center.
Avijit Chatterjee zChampion
Client Technical Architect
Avijit Chatterjee is a Mainframe Evangelist and zChampion in the IBM Software Group System z Competitive Project Office. Avijit specializes in Information Management topics such as positioning DB2 for z/OS for both OLTP and Analytics, Business Intelligence using Cognos, Predictive Analytics using SPSS and broadly IBM’s entire Big Data platform. His active hands-on research and deep expertise uniquely positions him to share his broad knowledge and insights with customers worldwide. Dr. Chatterjee was appointed as a Senior Technical Staff Member in 2005, where he was the Lead Systems Architect of a Information Based Medicine Solution. Before joining the Life Sciences organization in 2001, he worked in IBM Global Services for over seven years. Avijit played an instrumental role in leading the launch of two IBM products, on which he has filed six patents. Avijit has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California.

Cristian Molaro IBM GOLD Consultant IBM Champion for Data Management
Cristian Molaro is an independent DB2 specialist and an IBM Gold Consultant. He was recognized by IBM as an Information Champion in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. His main activity is linked to DB2 for z/OS administration and performance. He has presented papers at several international conferences and local user groups in Europe and North America. He is co-author of 6 IBM Redbooks related to DB2 including the recent "Optimizing DB2 Queries with IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator for z/OS". Cristian is part of the IDUG EMEA Conference Planning Committee and he is Chairman of the DB2 LUW User Group Benelux. Cristian was recognized as "TOP" EMEA Consultant at IDUG EMEA DB2 Tech Conference Prague 2011.

David Rhoderick IBM Strategy Mainframe Evangelist, zChampion
David Rhoderick manages IBM's System z Competitive Analysis team, is a “mainframe evangelist” and has extensive expertise in the financial aspects of enterprise computing. In his 30+ years at IBM, in both the U.S. and the U.K., he has worked in many different fields including software pricing, marketing, ISV recruitment, consulting, sales, systems engineering, development and systems programming.
Previous experience includes mainframe systems programming, the development of the OS/2 operating system for PCs and porting a large DEC-VAX application to the AIX environment for a media company. He has received numerous IBM awards including an IBM Outstanding Technical Achievement Award for System z Competitive Analysis of Mainframe Total Cost of Ownership.
David holds a Masters degree in Computer and Natural Sciences from Cambridge University and is currently studying for a Masters in Musicology at the UK’s Open University, and taking the Fellowship of the Royal Schools of Music examination in June 2013. He is organist and music director at his local church.

Guillaume Arnould

Guillaume Arnould began his IBM career in 1996 working in the IBM System z Manufacturing Test Engineering Department. He then spent two years in an international assignment in Poughkeepsie, NY, USA. In 2001, he joined the IBM PSSC team in Montpellier, France, as a Performance Expert on IBM DB2® for z/OS® client benchmarks. As the Technical Team Leader in the Smarter Banking Showcase project, Guillaume is responsible for new developments and production platforms. He holds an engineering degree in automation, electronics, and computing from Ecole Superieure en Informatique, Electronique et Automatisme (ESIEA), Paris. His areas of expertise include IBM Tivoli Monitoring, DB2, DB2 data sharing, performance tuning, and administration. .
Hélène Lyon
IBM IMS Architect and Distinguished Engineer
Hélène Lyon is the technical executive of the European IMS Architecture team whose focus is to develop database and transaction management solutions that fully integrate and collaborate with existing IT systems to perform a business function. Her focus is the “right fit” positioning of the IMS database manager and transaction manager capabilities within those systems. She is recognized worldwide as a technical leader for mainframe middleware. She is often called on to work with clients in all geographies around application modernization for Enterprise Information Systems (for example IMS, CICS, DB2, WAS, and SOA).
Jean-Marc Vandon

Jean Marc Vandon is an IT specialist with over 15 years of System z experience and was certified Expert Level in 2011. Currently Jean-Marc is in charge of the Technical Sales for GDPS in Europe and Africa, and pricing for GDPS offerings for EMEA and AP. Jean Marc has direct engagements with customers when a GDPS project is initiated. Previously, Jean Marc was one of the initial managers who built the IBM Montpellier Advanced
Technical Support Center (PSSC). He has held several management positions in Montpellier and in the IBM US for the IBM System z Product Marketing team in Poughkeepsie. Having spent 2 years as a System Availability leader (SAL) for Sanofi Aventis (2005) and France Telecom (2006), he now leads a Technical Focus group in France and Belgium aimed at developing Continuous Availability & Disaster Recovery Solutions (IBM GDPS). Amongst the technical IBM system z community, Jean Marc Vandon has built a solid network and knowledge that he uses to trigger the right IBM resource at the right time to facilitate project closure.
Joris Cornette

In 1976, while Joris was in university training as an astrophysicist, he came in contact with big iron.
At that time he worked to solve differential equations and since then has been active in data base management for (DB2, IMS and IDMS), application management (white box testing, re-engineering, JCL optimization) and storage management. He has primarily worked with ISVs and 3rd party vendors during his career in Belgium, France and Germany. As a Technical Sales Engineer at Rocket Software, Joris currently supports and advises both Rocket and IBM customers and colleagues on the European continent. In this role his expertise has been on best management practices in catalog management, DFSMShsm, Cloning Solutions, and Backup and Recovery Technologies for DB2 and IMS.
John J. Thomas STSM zChampion
John J. Thomas is an STSM and Consulting Engineer in IBM’s Competitive Project Office (CPO). He leads technical research on workload optimized systems and the Smarter Computing initiative. In this role, he covers a broad set of technologies ranging from System z, POWER, Pure Systems and Storage to competitor systems. He is a member of the prestigious IBM Academy of Technology. He has received multiple IBM Outstanding Technical Achievement Awards and holds patents in diverse areas. His previous role in IBM involved design and architecture of IBM’s eCommerce product suite.
John’s hands-on research within the CPO teams makes him uniquely qualified to present to audiences
worldwide. Before coming to IBM, he worked in solution development for insurance and other industry sectors. Mr. Thomas holds a Masters degree in Computer Engineering from Rutgers University and a B.Tech degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering.

Ludovic Janssens is an information management consultant for Infocura. Currently, he works as application DBA at Volvo IT in Ghent, Belgium. Ludovic started his early IT career in a Java based web environment, but
converted into a mainframe technician, with special focus on DB2 and database connectivity. His knowledge of both mainframe and distributed areas allowed him to improve his insight in the needs of modern object-oriented SOA applications and their implementation on DB2 for z/OS. His past challenges in this area included the migration of DB2 Connect v8 to v9.7 at Euroclear and a proof of concept of the PureQuery technology with Volvo IT.

Siegfried Langer joined IBM in Essen, Germany in 1974. He has worked in IBM Development since 1983, holding positions in processor and systems planning, marketing, technical sales support, software development and project management. Located at the IBM Development Laboratory in Boeblingen, Germany, he managed mainframe processor development projects, parallel systems support, smart card-related development projects, as well as development for retail and wholesale banking and financial markets.
