Cold Water Swimming Webinar with Prof Mike Tipton & Dr Heather Massey

Myth busting webinar with Professor Mike Tipton and Dr Heather Massey on all things cold water swimming hosted by Immerse Hebrides and H2O Training on 29 Jan 2021. Dr Massey is a swimmer and a researcher at the Extreme Environments Laboratory at the University of Portsmouth about what happens to our bodies when we swim in cold water. She has 15 years of experience in research in Extreme Environments, with a special interest in the physiological effects of cold water immersion, sea survival and cold water swimming. Mike Tipton MBE is Professor of Human & Applied Physiology at the Extreme Environments Laboratory, School of Sport, Health & Exercise Science at the University of Portsmouth. He is also editor-in-chief of Experimental Physiology. His research interests include cold water immersion, thermoregulation, environmental physiology, occupational physiology.
