CBI Expro

Since 1990 CBI has been organizing orientation training programmes (so-called EXPRO) on international marketing and management with a focus on doing business with Europe. The EXPRO Fresh Fruit & Vegetables is part of the Export Coaching Programme (ECP) for the Agro Food Programme Central America. Participating companies produce all kinds of (semi)-tropical and exotic fruits and vegetables such as mango, rambutan, pineapple, lemons, okra, malanga, sugar snaps, sweet potato, and aromatic herbs, which all have very good quality standards.

Objectives

The objective of the training is to get participants familiarised with the EU markets and train them on export marketing, management and promotion techniques relevant to these markets.

Activities

The EXPRO provides the participants with various sector-speci-fic training sessions, including themes such as EU market and industry structure and trends, buying strategies, promotional instruments, preparation for trade fairs, distribution issues, and sustainability. Part of the EXPRO training is the visit of a trade fair (Fruit Attraction in Madrid). Next to this, various company visits are scheduled, varying from importers and distributors to packing/handling companies and retailers.
