Welcome to EMC Education Services

With our continued focus on creating a simple, predictable and profitable environment for our Partners,

we have made changes to the development path for Partner individuals in 2014. Partners will enjoy a

broader scope of development courses, tools and skills programs. This improved development process

will result in a more efficient and profitable sales team.

BUSINESS PARTNER ACADEMY

New in 2014 is the Business Partner Academy; a centralized location for development resources across

Partner types. Here you will have access to training and enablement resources tailored to your specific

relationship with EMC. You will be able to access required training applicable to your partnership, as well

as optional materials designed to further develop your knowledge of EMC products, solutions, services,

and messaging. In addition, you can also explore the enablement resources for different partner types

including Federation Partners.

ON-BOARDING

For those new to their roles or partnering with EMC we offer a recommended orientation program, Fast Start,

prior to diving into product and solution training.

Fast Start

provides an introduction to EMC and the storage

industry, as well as information relating to the varying partner types within the Business Partner Program.

Leverage this tool within your first few days selling EMC to accelerate your time to productivity.

CORE DEVELOPMENT

The next step in the development process is the

EMC Technologies

Program. Students will learn foundational

knowledge of EMC products for both Sales and Technical roles, including product introductions and their

associated use cases and tools. Additionally, you are provided customer facing collateral such as white board

and messaging techniques, demos and other tools to assist in your selling motion. This program enables you

to comfortably initiate and lead a sales conversation, while speaking confidently to EMC’s portfolio of

products, ultimately ensuring that you position the right solution to your customers. There are no required

prerequisites for the EMC Technologies program.

Once you have earned your Sales or Systems Engineer (SE) credential in the EMC Technologies you can move

on to the

Converged Infrastructure

Program. This development program will provide you with an in-depth

understanding of converged infrastructure methodologies and solutions. You will start with an overview of

the three paths to the cloud, customer challenges, the market opportunity and the fundamentals of VSPEX

and Vblock. With that foundation, you’ll now choose if you want to learn more about EMC’s VSPEX or VCE’s

Vblock.

The VSPEX curriculum, which is available in a Sales and SE track, will introduce you to the VSPEX program

and business framework and will provide you with a deep understanding of VSPEX business and application

relevance. SE’s will also learn how to effectively size VSPEX solutions. Available to the VCE partners, the

Vblock curriculum will provide you with all the information you need to sell and architect Vblock solutions.

EMC Technologies credential is a required prerequisite for the Converged Infrastructure program.

At the most advanced level of core development is the

EMC Solutions

program. These intimate, interactive

virtual workshops are based on the existing sales playbooks. The workshops will guide you through specific

plays for each solution and teach you how to address your customers’ business challenges with solution

selling. The learning format for these workshops is unlike anything else in our Sales and Presales

develop-ment portfolio. You will be able to collaborate interactively with both the instructors and your peers through

virtual exercises. This will allow you to experience live workshop-like interaction without taking time out of

the field for travel. Both EMC Technologies and Converged Infrastructure credentials are required

prerequi-sites for the EMC Solutions program.
