SEPTEMBER

WENDY’S High School Heisman Scholarship – honors both male and female high school scholar-athlete-citizens. Criteria are based equally on: academic excellence, community service, and athletic achievement. – applicants are nominated by school personnel.

TARGET/CHIP GANASSI SCHOLARSHIP – Ivy Tech’s Automotive Technology Program. Criteria based on scores of written and hands-on competition .

OCTOBER

+WELLS SCHOLARS PROGRAM: Scholarship to Indiana University for a senior who ranks high in his/her class and has a high SAT score. There are only two nominees per school.

COCA-COLA SCHOLARS PROGRAM: planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution – based on individual’s character, personal merit, and background.

NOVEMBER

MCDONALD’S BLACK HISTORY MAKERS OF TOMORROW SCHOLARSHIP: Junior or senior in high school, minimum GPA of “C” – based on leadership, scholarship, character and community service.

+INDIANA STATE UNIVERSITY: Sponsors scholarships listed here. Student must be accepted to the university before applying for these scholarships.

PRESIDENT’S SCHOLARSHIP: Full tuition, room and board, plus a stipend for books. Renewable. Student must be in top 10% of the class or a gpa of 3.7. Selection is based on rigor of courses taken, class rank, a writing sample, and standardized test scores. Extracurricular activities, leadership and community service will be evaluated.

GONGAWARE SCHOLARSHIP: 5,000 per year renewable. Student will have a one summer paid internship. Must have competitive grades, class rank, and test scores, and be majoring in insurance.

ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP: Full tuition renewable. Must rank in the top 10% with a gpa of 3.7, competitive standardized test scores, rigorous curriculum, and a writing sample. Extracurricular activities and awards will be evaluated.

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP: 1,500 to 2,500 renewable. Must rank in the top 10% with a gpa of 3.7, competitive standardized test scores, rigorous curriculum and a writing sample.

WARREN M. ANDERSON SCHOLARSHIP: 1,200 renewable. Top 30% of class or a 3.0 gpa, community service, and recommendations. Race is a consideration for this scholarship.

DEAN’S SCHOLARSHIP: 1,200 renewable. Rank in top 25% or a 3.5 gpa. Anticipated major will be primary determinant. CREATIVE AND PERFORMING ARTS AWARD: Value will vary but is renewable. Talent based so requires a portfolio, audition or an interview and is not dependant on major selected. A contact with the department of choice is required. Auditions, competitions and interviews are held in the fall.

SUMMER HONORS SCHOLARSHIP: 1,000 renewable. Participants in the University’s Summer Honors Program may be considered who have also received a recommendation from an ISU faculty member. Must have a competitive class rank, gpa, standardized test scores, and curriculum.

CHILD OF ALUMNI BOOK VOUCHER AWARD: Voucher for books is non-renewable and is selected based on class rank, gpa, curriculum, and extracurricular activities. Must be a child of an alumni.

+HORATIO ALGER ENRICHING AMERICA AWARDS PROGRAM: For Sophomores and Juniors only. A 2,000 savings bond for self-initiated community service efforts.

+DEPAUW UNIVERSITY SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS SCHOLARSHIP: 10,000 renewable based on scoring on a rigorous exam scores.

+AMERICAN LEGION: Various scholarships. A book is in guidance that lists these scholarships and may be used in the office. Inaddition there are oratorical contests held around the state that lead to scholarship awards. For more information please contact your local American Legion post.

+ROTC SCHOLARSHIPS: Scholarships in the amount of 80% of the tuition at any of several universities. Applications are available from the recruiters of each service or in the guidance office.

+TOYOTA COMMUNITY SCHOLARS PROGRAM: 100 renewable scholarships will be awarded to students in the top 10% of their class who are actively involved in a service organization or project that has a positive impact on the school and/or community and plan to pursue a four-year degree.

+SAE ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION: Application to multiple engineering scholarships and for other sciences. 3.5 gpa, $5.00 processing fee.

FUND FOR HOOSIER EXCELLENCE: Eligibility requirements: Must be Black, Hispanic or Native American, enroll in as Indiana college or university, SAT of 1000 and a gpa of 3.0.

Due December 5.

+INDIANA UNIVERSITY KELLEY SCHOLARS PROGRAM: Full tuition, fees and a living stipend for four years. Must be majoring in business at Indiana University, rank in top 10%, SAT of 1300 and accept Direct Freshmen Admission into the School of Business. May apply only after being accepted to IU. Application will be sent directly to applicant automatically. Due December 1.

BALL STATE UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS: Scholarships of 1/2 to full tuition will be awarded to exceptional musicians. An audition appointment must be requested on a date from December 12 to April 4 to be considered for these awards

PURDUE UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIPS: Merit based scholarships for students in the top 10% with a math SAT of 700 and selecting a major in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics or Earth and Atmospheric Science at Purdue University. Only one Purdue School of Science application need be filed. Due December 1, and continuing until all are awarded.

BUTLER UNIVERSITY MORTAR BOARD SCHOLARSHIP: 500 minimum available to any graduating senior from the Indianapolis area. Due December 5.

FRANKLIN COLLEGE NATIONAL PULLIAM JOURNALISM SCHOLARSHIPS: A scholarship for students with a strong interest in professional journalism careers. Scholarship ranges up to 40,000 for four years of study. Due December 31.

UPS – JAMES CASEY SCHOLARSHIP: $2,000 - $6,000, applicants must have a parent who is a full-time or part-time employee of UPS – must take the PSAT

+INDIANA UNIVERSITY – BEECHWOOD EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION, INC.:

For men attending IU on the Bloomington campus. 200 to a student in each of 4 geographical areas of Indiana. This will be based on academics, athletics, activities, and community service. Due January 10.

PURDUE FRESHMAN SCHOLARS PROGRAM: $1,000 scholarship based on application and essay and enrollment in the School of Health Sciences. Will be reviewed.

PAPA JOHNS SCHOLARS: 2.0 GPA, based on creative ability, community involvement, obstacles overcome, meaningful objectives achieved, life goals and interests, academic achievement, leadership and character .

RON BROWN SCHOLAR PROGRAM: Applicants must be African-American students, based on financial need, scholarship, leadership, and a commitment to public service.

+DISCOVER CARD TRIBUTE AWARD: FOR JUNIORS ONLY Nine scholarships of up to 16,500 in scholarships for any type of post high school training will be made available in each state. Minimum gpa of 2.75, demonstrate accomplishments in four of five areas: Special Talents, Leadership, Community Service, Obstacles Overcome, and Unique Endeavors.

+PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES FOUNDATION STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: Two 2,000 scholarships to high school student athletes who will be attending a school that does not provide athletic scholarships. Must have a 2.0 gpa, nomination by a coach, leadership and character. Also, an indication of how athletic competition has aided in personal growth in a two page essay. .

+ELKS NATIONAL FOUNDATION'S "MOST VALUABLE STUDENT": Based on financial need, leadership and scholarship. Scholarships range from 1,000 to 7,500

ELKS ESSAY CONTEST: 300 words or less on "Why is it important that the citizens of Indiana never forget our hospitalized veterans?" Open to students in grades 9-12.

BUTLER UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENTAL SCHOLARSHIPS: Must be admitted to Butler by December 1, 1997. Upon receipt of the application qualified candidates will be sent the application for the appropriate scholarship.

INDIANA STATE UNIVERSITY SPECIAL EDUCATION OR COMMUNICATION DISORDERS SCHOLARSHIPS: student must have an SAT of 1100 and rank in the top 10% as well as major in one of these fields. Scholarship is 1,000 renewable.

PURDUE UNIVERSITY COMPUTER SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP: For students in the top 10% of their class with a math SAT of 700 and selecting a major in Computer Science at Purdue.

FEBRUARY

INDIANA ASSOCIATION OF ORTHODONTISTS SCHOLARSHIP: Senior, completed one-page essay, single data page, submit photograph. ($500)

+LILLY ENDOWMENT COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: A full tuition renewable scholarship with a 700 stipend. Student must be seeking a degree at an accredited public or private college or university in Indiana. Criteria include strong or improving gpa, and SAT/ACT score, involvement in school and community activities, writing sample and some lesser factors listed in the application.

+INDIANA ASSOCIATION OF EDUCATIONAL OFFICE PROFESSIONALS: Four 500 scholarships for students in business education majors or business related fields.

PURDUE UNIVERSITY KELLOGG'S SCHOLARSHIP: Major is Food Science, Foods, or Nutrition in Business.

INDIANA UNIVERSITY HONORS DIVISION SCHOLARSHIPS: Rank in the top 8% and have 600 verbal and 600 math on SAT I to be in the honors division. For scholarship of 1,000 to 3,000 renewable student must have a 1300 SAT I and rank in the top 3%.

+DEPAUW UNIVERSITY HOLTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: High School may nominated three students to be

considered for this scholarship which provides between 1,000 and 24,900 annually. Based on leadership, hard work, personal determination, and diligence.

PURDUE UNIVERSITY DEAN'S SCHOLAR PROGRAM: This scholarship program provides outstanding students a unique opportunity for both financial and educational enrichment. Provides a 1,000 award and an opportunity for individual study with a professor for the academic year. Requirements are an SAT of 1200, essay, two recommendations, and an activities resume.

EARLHAM COLLEGE PRESIDENTIAL HONORS SCHOLARSHIP: 1150 SAT and be in the top 20% of the graduating class or a 3.5 gpa.

INDIANA ASSOCIATION FOR HEALTH, PHYSICAL EDUCATION, RECREATION AND DANCE (IAHPERD): 500 scholarships based on activities, a major in the above fields, attend an Indiana college, academic achievement and need. D

+AMERICAN LEGION - JACK CLARK SCHOLARSHIP: Scholarship established by the American Legion Francis Nedlinger Post #95. Scholars will be selected by a committee to be designated each year by the Legion. Preference will be given to students who were related to Jack Clark, or those who are the children of Legion members, who exemplify commitment to the community.

+BOONE COUNTY AGRICULTURE SCHOLARSHIP: Must pursue an agricultural-related degree.

+TOM BAUMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: 750 scholarship. A person must make a significant contribution to the Zionsville Community High School athletic program.

+THE ENTREPRENEUR SCHOLARSHIP FUND IN HONOR OF LLOYD AND JANE TAYLOR: 1,000 scholarship. Major in business at a 4-year institution, 3.0 gpa, a strong entrepreneurial spirit as exemplified through extra curricular activities as well as employment responsibilities.

+HOMER AND GWENDOLEN FIX MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: Scholarship amount varies. To provide educational support to students who participated in the athletics programs of Zionsville Upper Middle School, and Zionsville Community High School. Recipients will be nominated by school athletic department personnel as designated by Mr. Fix. There is no application process.

+TODD GETTY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: 1,000 scholarship awarded a senior boy or girl athlete who most exemplify cheerful, positive attitude, strong work ethic, good sportsmanship, and friendship. Recipients will be selected by the coaches. There is no application process.

NURSING SCHOLARSHIP FUND PROGRAM: a 2.0 GPA student willing to work as a nurse for two years in the state of Indiana. Up to 5,000 annually and the deadlines are established by the individual schools.

+UNIVERSITY OF EVANSVILLE FIRST CHOICE AWARD: Need and selection of University of Evansville as the first choice school. Award is full tuition, student fees, room and meals.

IUPUI SCHOLARSHIPS & AWARDS: A booklet listing several scholarships to IUPUI that vary in criteria, area of interest, amount is available to be used in quidance.

THE LEORA AND CARLTON HUTTON TRUST: 1-2,000 renewable scholarship available to students of Zionsville Community High School only. These are available to both four year college bound and technical school students.

PERSONAL FINANCE COMPANY PERSONAL SUCCESS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: 500 scholarship with no limitations as to class rank or gpa. Based on initiative, career and future goals, as well as involvement with community and school. Due March 16.

INDIANA UNIVERSITY THOMSON STAR THEATER AND DRAMA SCHOLARSHIP: Be accepted to Indiana University, Attend an audition workshop, demonstrate exceptional talent, achievement and involvement in a performing arts discipline by submitting the information in an essay.

SUPERINTENDENT'S STAY-IN-SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP: 1,000 scholarship for the sophomore year of college. Criteria include scholarship, participation in band, service to the community, school, and church; financial need is a consideration, but not primary.

DELTA SIGMA KAPPA SORORITY: 500 scholarship based on academic achievement and financial need.

BOONE COUNTY 4-H BOOSTER CLUB: must have 5 years 4-H active membership.

BOONE COUNTY HORSE AND PONY SCHOLARSHIP: Active in Boone County 4-H last five years and has completed three years in the 4-H Horse and Pony program.

IPALCO SCHOLARSHIP-ENVIRONMENTAL AND/OR ELECTRICAL CAREERS: Must have three years active 4-H membership .

BOONE COUNTY 4-H CLUB – DARRELL A. PORTELL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: Active in 4-H for last three years. Will be at least $250. Due March 1st.

IUPUI RICHARD PAPALA SCHOLARSHIP: Merit and need based. Students majoring in chemistry, laboratory technology or nursing may apply. Due March 1st.

IUPUI HUGHES SCHOLARSHIPS: 500 students with SAT of 1100 and a class ran of 25% or above. Financial need a criteria. Due March 1st.

IUPUI HONORS DISTINGUISHED SCHOLARS: Must rank in top 10% of class with a 1300 SAT or a 29 ACT. Essay and interview are required. Due March 1st.

IUPUI UNIVERSITY COLLEGE HONORS SCHOLARSHIPS: must rank in top 15% or have a 1180 SAT. Essay and interview required. Due March 1st.

IUPUI OUTSTANDING SCHOLARS: Essay and interview required. Emphasis on well-rounded students include community activities, leadership. Due March 1st.

NATIONAL ALLIANCE FOR SCHOLASTIC ACHIEVEMENT: Acceptance to 4 year academic college or university, GPA of at least 2.75, complete SAT or ACT, letters of recommendations.

IUPUI MERIT SCHOLARS: $1,000 renewable automatic scholarship. Due April 1st.

IUPUI VAL/SAL AWARDS: $500 scholarship, due April 1st.

+VINCENNES UNIVERSITY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION: Scholarship for children of Vincennes University Alumni. Must have a completed entrance application.

FRIENDS OF COLUMBIA SOCIETY HISPANIC SCHOLARSHIPS: Must be Hispanic of 1st, 2nd, or 3rd generation, be accepted by an accredited college/university, pursue an associate or bachelor degree either on a full or part-time basis.

ASM INTERNATIONAL: 2-1,000 scholarships to students pursuing an education in Materials Science and Engineering related fields.

AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: A 1,000 scholarship program for students who have been diagnosed with cancer before the age of 21. Must attend school in Michigan or Indiana. Call 800-723-0360 for an application.

PANSY WALKER EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP: Valued at 1,500 a year and renewable. To be awarded to the most promising students who are in the top ten percent of their high school graduating class or have a gpa of at least 3.7 and have an SAT total score of at least 1010 or an ACT composite score of 21..

BOONE COUNTY 4-H JUNIOR LEADERS SCHOLARSHIP: 250 scholarship to 3 high school seniors who are currently active in the Junior Leader Project.

PURDUE CLUB OF BOONE COUNTY: A 750 scholarship to Purdue University.

+IUPUI MINORITY RESEARCH SCHOLARS: This is aimed at attracting academically talented minority students to the Schools of Science, Engineering, Allied Health, Nursing, Physical Education and Social Work at IUPUI.

IUPUI NEW GENERATION SCHOLARSHIPS: For students seeking degrees in the sciences, Engineering, or Technology. Must be first member of the family to attend college.

INDIANA SHERIFFS' ASSOCIATION, INC.: 40 500 scholarships to qualified students who are pursuing an education and career in the criminal justice field. Must be a dependent of an active affiliate or associate member of the Indiana Sheriffs' Association and entering an Indiana college or university. Renewable. .

WITHAM HOSPITAL VOLUNTEER HEALTH CAREER SCHOLARSHIP: Applicant must be planning to enter a health career field. 500 non renewable.

WITHAM MEMORIAL HOSPITAL FOUNDATION MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL LOAN: Students entering a medical field may borrow up to 2,000 a year. Renewable. Due April 15.

EXECUTIVE WOMEN INTERNATIONAL: Scholarship for juniors pursuing a four year degree. Amount is up to 3,000.

MANCHESTER COLLEGE SERVICE SCHOLARSHIPS: Scholarships varying from 1,500 to 5,000 per year renewable. For information and application forms call the Manchester College Admissions Office.

PURDUE UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF HEALTH SCIENCES FRESHMAN SCHOLARS PROGRAM: Student must have an SAT of 1100 or ACT of 26 or be the valedictorian or salutatorian or the class. Scholarships will be awarded until all have been issued.

SCHERING/KEY CORPORATION - THE WILL TO WIN ASTHMA ATHLETE SCHOLARSHIP: Up to 10,000 scholarship. Must have a nomination by a doctor, leadership qualities, excellence in competitive sports, superior academic record and notable extra curricular activities.

ROBERT BYRD HONORS SCHOLARSHIPS: 1300 or higher on the SAT I, high gpa.

KIWANIS INDIANA FOUNDATION: 500 scholarship to an Indiana college or university.
