Managing Products:

On the left hand side, go to Products. From here you can select, All Products, Add New Product, Categories, Tags and Attributes.

Most Frequesntly, you will be using All Products, Categories and Attributes.

All Products:

If you click on ‘All Products’ or if you simply click on ‘Products’, you can see an overview of all the products on your website. If you mouseover a product in the list, you can choose some options such as Edit, Trash and View.

Edit Product:

Once in the Edit Product screen, you can add/edit the product description using the main text box. This will appear in a tabbed section under the product details on the idividual product page. Further down the edit screen, is an ‘Excerpt’ text box. Text added here will appear between the product title and the product price on the individual product page. It is best to keep the except text short.

Product Data:

This is where you add specific details about your product such as price, weight and stock levels. You would also choose what type of product it is. the different product types offer different product options.

The majority of products will use the ‘Simple’ product type. This is a straight forward product, with one price.

Featured Image:

On the right of the edit product screen, you can select your product’s ‘Featured Image’ (we recommend max image width 1024px wide. Landscape aspect ratio is also preferable but not mandatory). This image is uploaded only once, and is then automatically cropped and applied to the relevant sections on the website.

Product Categories:

This is where you would select which category you want your product to be logged under. If you choose more than one category, then the product will appear on each of the category pages you selected. All products will automatically be added to the main ‘Shop’ page as well as their chosen category page/pages.

Publish:

You can preview your change using the ‘Preview Changes’ button. Once you are happy with your changes, you can click ‘Update’. Once you click update, the changes will be live on the website.

Variable Products:

If you have a product that requires the customer to specify a number of options, eg size or colour, you can add/edit this product using the ‘Variable’ product type - instead of Simple.

Once you select ‘Variable’ as the product type, you will see an ‘Attributes’ tab. From here you would choose which of your pre-defined attributes you want to be available for this product. If there are no pre-defined attributes available, then you will need to add them. We will cover this later.

Once you select your desired attribute from the drop down, click ‘Add Attribute’.

Then tick ‘is for variations’ and select which specific attributes you would like to make available for this product. eg, I want to have Large and Small options for this product.

Once you select your desired options, click ‘Update’. After the Update has saved, click on the ‘Variations’ tab.

Click ‘Add Variation’ and then enter specific information for that option. For example, if a customer chooses the product in size ‘Small’ it will cost £1.00. If they choose the product in size ‘Large’ it will cost £2.00. You can also have one set price regardless of what option the customer chooses by using ‘Any...’ from the drop down.

Products with variable options will be displayed as drop downs on the individual product page and the price will update depending on which variable option is chosen buy the customer.

(5)

Adding a Product Attribute:

Go to Products/Attributes on the left hand side.

To create a new attribute, enter the attribte label and be sure to choose ‘Multi-select’ from the type drop down. Slug will be added automatically afetr clicking ‘Add Attribute’.

Once your new attribute has been added to the list, click ‘Configure Terms’.

Once you click Configure Terms, you can add the different varables you want to include within this Attrubute. EG, This attribute has Large and Small.

These will then be available when you come to creating/editing your products under the Variable product type, as described above.

Managing Orders:

When a customer places an order on your website, you will recieve an email notification, along with any payment

confirmation (eg from paypal). The customer would also recieve a confirmation email saying that their order has been recieved.

You can choose to contact the customer directly using the email address and contact information from the order confirmation, or you can use the automated process through the website using the ‘Orders’ tab on the left hand side.

From the ‘Orders’ page, select the relevant order from the list.

Here you can see an oveiew of the order. There are a lot of options in here, but in its simplist form, once you have posted the order to the customer, or have the order ready for collection, you can set the order status to ‘Completed’, and then click ‘Save Order’.

At this point, the customer will automatically be sent a second email informing them that their order in complete.

Please note that refunds are not handled through the automated process. you would have to contact the customer directly and arrnage the refund of payment etc manually.
