GENENTECH - STEAM LINE EXTENSION PROJECT
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA
ATI provided support to the Genentech South San Francisco Campus for the past three years. Projects include pressure control valve station design and installation, ion-exchanger polishing softener installation and a safety feature upgrade to their major utility pipe rack. ATI also provided support to the completion of the integration of the central boiler plant. This includes providing the construction sequence and logic to bring the central boiler plant on-line and the demolition of the individual building boilers afterwards. All were performed without interruption to the steam supply to the manufacturing and research facilities. The latest project ATI performed for Genentech is a fourteen million dollar steam line extension project. ATI first completed a feasibility study to recommend the best option for routing and developed the design phase of the project. The project included the design of 1,500 foot high pressure steam line from the central boiler plant to their Founder’s Research Center, tie-in to the existing building steam system, demolition of the old boilers, and installation of new heat exchangers to provide for the heating load.INFRASTRUCTURE
