Parents’ Club Meeting

REMINDER

Foundation students DO

NOT attend school on a

Wednesday until 24th

February.

Welcome to the 2021 school year! It is great to be back! I would like to welcome all our new families to Grahamvale and welcome our existing families back to the 2021 school year.

It was fantastic to see all of our students back and settled into their excellent routines. Our Foundation

students have also settled very well. I am super proud of each and every one of them.

Can I thank each and every one of you for your support with the processes and practices in place to ensure we are staying safe at all times and adhering to the restrictions that remain in place. Thank you also for settling your child and leaving the classroom to allow other parents to enter.

Please remember to sign and return the photo permission forms and the ICT/BYOD agreements if you haven't already done so.

We are looking to welcome our parents back onsite to assist with reading etc. Please continue to be patient as we work through this to ensure we continue our COVID safe practices. We truly appreciate and value your ongoing support and the partnership we have with your child’s education. If you have any questions or concerns please contact your child’s teacher or ring the office to speak with Anda or myself.

Assembly is going to look a little different this year as we are going to be incorporating the Bluearth program more. It will now be every second week on a Wednesday, commencing on February 17. We are working through final details of what this looks like and our awards will also reflect a new format. Stay tuned for more information!

I will continue to keep you up to date with information via the Schoolstream app as this is a great way to communicate with you. Please ensure you have the app on your phone.

Lunch orders will commence next Friday. Ordering for these is now done using a QR code. Instructions and information was sent out on Monday. The Term One calendar is on this week's newsletter. Please mark down any key dates relevant to your child. School photos will be taken on Thursday 18th March and the Shepp News will be at school to take Foundation photos for their annual feature on Friday 12th February.

Have a great Friday and a great weekend. Let’s hope we get to stay onsite for the whole of the 2021 school year. Simone 

Do you shop at Rebel in Shepparton?

If you do make sure you get a Rebel

card and have it linked to Grahamvale

Primary School. Every dollar you spend

means points for our school to

purchase new items and equipment.

We also use our points to purchase

prizes for our sports days and special

event days.

HELPING HANDS ROSTER

At Grahamvale Primary School

we care for our families in need

whether it be through a time of

illness, death or hardship in the

family.

We are seeking willing people

to go on a roster to make a

meal or two throughout the

year.

Each year we do have a new

roster so even if you have

volunteered in the past, please

let Sue know if you are

available to help us out.

The meals are distributed at the

discretion of the Principal.

“One of the most important things

you can do on this earth is to let

people know they are not alone.”

Car Park

The car park does become very busy, particularly after school.

During the first weeks of the year it is even busier. For the benefit of new families

and as a reminder to existing families the following are some rules and ideas that

help improve the safety and efficiency of the area.

•The speed limit is 10kph

•If parked in the front row closest to the school, turn left to exit. However, before

school it is ok to turn right after using the ’drop and go zone’

•If parked in the row closest to the road, you should turn right to exit

•Only cars with a disabled sticker displayed should park in the disabled car parks

•Always use the pedestrian crossing provided rather than weaving in and out of

the cars

•Open car doors carefully

•Only pick up and drop off students when your car is in a designated car park or

you are using the ’drop and go zone’ in the morning

•Do not stop and wait for a park as traffic gets banked up on the main road. If

someone is actually backing out, then it is okay to give way and take that park

•If there are no parks available you may need to drive out onto the main road and

come around again until there is one available

Parking along the school side of the road outside the car park is acceptable

between the signs near the entry and exit and to the north of the exit past

the ‘No Parking’ sign.

Any parking on the side of the road before the entry, is illegal and extremely

dangerous. The Police will fine drivers caught doing a U-turn across the

double lines or those who are parked illegally.

Car pooling is another option that has worked successfully in the past.

We are very fortunate to have a car park as many schools don’t have such a

facility available. Staff members will be on duty to help with traffic movement. If we

use common sense and be patient and courteous at drop off and pickup times, it

should work effectively and safely.

At assembly students are required to sing both

of these songs.

We invite and encourage the parents present

to join in with us.

Welcome to Grahamvale Welcome to Grahamvale

The friends we have made at school In our blue and yellow we think we’re cool Our teachers care and we all know

Together everyone achieves more

As soon as we all walk through the doors We appreciate each other so

The friends we’ve made at our school In our blue and yellow we think we’re cool Our teachers care we know

The support from home it rules

Well we read and write and count some too We do our best in whatever we do

You don’t have to be fooled We know the Arts rule

AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL

ANTHEM

Australians all let us rejoice,

For we are one and free;

We’ve golden soil and wealth for

toil;

Our home is girt by sea;

Our land abounds in nature’s

gifts

Of beauty rich and rare;

In history’s page, let every stage

Advance Australia Fair.

In joyful strains then let us sing,

Advance Australia Fair.

Beneath our radiant Southern

Cross

We’ll toil with hearts and hands;

To make this Commonwealth of

ours

Renowned of all the lands;

For those who’ve come across

the seas

We’ve boundless plains to share;

With courage let us all combine

To Advance Australia Fair.

In joyful strains then let us sing,

Advance Australia Fair
