Parent Teacher Organization Information
Parent Teacher Organization (P.T.O.) Monthly Meetings - Consists of parents meeting on the 3rd Tuesday of every other month to discuss upcoming fundraisers and conducting various activities for the school.
*Parents in attendance receive a N.U.T. pass for child(ren) to dress out of uniform
Trustee Committee - The committee will have a slate of officers with nomination of at least one candidate for each elective office. The slate will be prepared and read at the April meeting where nominations from the floor are in order. The complete slate will then be prepared in tally form available for members to vote at the May meeting.
Ways & Means Committee - This committee consists of the incoming President and volunteers. They consider various methods in which funds are to be raised for all projects of the Parent Organization. A complete report is given after the completion of all projects by the chair of the committee.

Classroom Party Rules
The Parent Organization will sponsor a Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day party for each grade level.
● Each party will begin at 2:15 p.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. This time should include clean-up. Parents need to arrive no later than 2:10 p.m. (Excluding the Christmas Movie for grades K-8)
● Grades 6-8 may have pop, one per student. Water should be offered as an option to non-pop drinkers.
● Grades PreK-5 are permitted to have individual juice drinks and snacks. Refreshments should be kept at a minimum.
● Parents should organize games for students to play during the Halloween and Valentine's Day parties.
Students also enjoy craft projects.
● There will not be any reimbursement for items purchased, your purchase should be considered a donation, except the Christmas movie.
● With only a few parties each year please only one parent per grade party.

Fundraiser & Event Descriptions
Box Top Labels: Collect and organize donated labels and box tops to be submitted for cash/rewards for the school.
Peeler Fundraiser: Order, distribute, collect money, and award prizes for peelers sale.
Catholic Schools Week: Organize, prepare and serve lunch and provide gifts to the St. Michael School staff.
Children’s Clothing & Toy Sale: Organize, market and assist with consignment sale.
Conservation Shoot & Raffle: Organize, advertise and run a conservation shoot with raffle.
Christmas Program Cookies: Parent Organization representatives will purchase drinks and organize cookie donations for the St. Michael’s School Christmas Program in December.
Everybody Counts Program: Parents volunteer to assist with a grade to show that everyone is important and explain how it may feel to have a disability.
8thGrade Trip: This committee is for 8thgrade parents only. They will organize and plan the 8thgrade field trip taken in the spring of each year. In addition, this committee will also chaperone the trip.
Faculty & Staff Appreciation Week: Will get gifts for the week and have a luncheon during the appreciation week. Volunteers will help watch classrooms and serve the meal on the luncheon day.
Father Daughter Dance: Organize and advertise the dance and activities.
Homecoming Float: Student Council/Volunteers help with organizing the idea, building, and riding on the school float for the homecoming parade. Candy donations appreciated.
Magazine Drive & Cookie Dough Orders: Distribute and collect orders for magazines and cookie dough.
IGA Cookout: Organize, advertise and run a cookout.
Scholastic Book Fairs: Assist with selling books/items, display or clean-up of book fair.
7th & 8th Grade Dance: The committee is for 7th grade parents only. This committee will organize and plan the 7th& 8thgrade dance held in May.
Teacher Fall Conference Meal: Provide a meal and snacks for the staff during the fall conferences.
Turkey Supper: A chairperson will organize committees for baking pies & cooking turkeys and setup/prepare/serve/clean-up.
Walk-A-Thon: Organize committees for day of event help
Skyline Dine In Night: Coordinate with Dave Deddens a day and time to hold a fundraiser.
