FLY LINES &
FISH TALES
The Prez Says:
I really look forward to April, mainly the White Pines fish-out.
It is always a good time up in the Town of Arnold. I know the lake is really in the little area known as White Pines.
So I hope to see a large turn out for fishing and tubing, and then the Tracy Fly Fishers will take over The Snowshoe restaurant for some prime rib.
This month’s guest speaker is none other than the famous K D.
His real name is Kevin Doran, but KD is his handle. He will be talking Bass for sure and with warmer temps and longer days it only means the bite will be coming on! I just can't get enough bass.
Remember we have a bunch of new members joining us every month so if you’re at the meeting and you see someone you don't know, ask them their name and
make them feel welcome. You just might find a new fishing hole or two.

This Month’s Guest Speaker:
Captain Kevin Doran:
Captain "KD" has been fishing for Largemouth Bass since his childhood. KD's passion for catching LmBass using topwater tactics began as a young boy over fifty years ago on the shores of Clear Lake in Northern California. He cast his first fly rod and a "Loyd's Luck Lures" balsa popper for big Clear Lake Bass. His passion for taking bass on top carried forth into his Delta fishing and guiding career, which established him as one of the premier Delta "Bass masters"
utilizing fly fishing tackle and developing unique fly patterns and presentation techniques.
He has been featured in numerous articles in industry publications, including California Fly Fisher and Fly Fisherman (California's Largemouth Paradise, May 2007). Kevin authored the definitive Delta Largemouth article, "Tactics for Delta Bass"
(California Fly Fisher, April
2001) which was ground breaking in bringing forth awareness to fly anglers about the Delta Largemouth fishery.
Kevin has been featured in books such as "Fly Fishing the California Delta"
(Costello/Sherman), "Fly Fishing California's Great Waters" (Blanton), and starred a supporting role in "Bass: The Movie" (Howard Films). Along with his Bass-n-Fly team members, Kevin has been involved with lodge guide training, rod and tackle development, and educational seminars and presentations.
Kevin resides in Stockton, CA.
The Tracy Fly Fishers’ Board of Directors meets on the first Wednesday of each month at the Safeway grocery store’s Community Room at 1801 W. 11th Street. The next board meeting will be held on May 2, 2012, at 7:00 pm. The Board meetings are open to all TFF members. Stop by and see what goes on “behind the scenes” of your club!
