3.0 Description of appliance

The EKc(br,n) 1424, 1714, 2514 are built-in refrigerators with décor panels. They are controlled via an integral PCB and two sensors (evaporator and air). The display shows the desired target value. The appliance features a compressor. The condenser is located in the base compartment and is cooled by a fan.

Special features:

- The evaporator sensor is foamed-in as per standard. For repairs, the evaporator sensor is attached to the inner liner with a separate holder.

- Ventilation is via the appliance’s base compartment.

4.1.2 Refrigerator compartment Electronics

Setting range: Refrigerator compartment: +1°C to +9°C Display range: +1°C to +9°C (target value display)

Functions

SuperCool: SuperCool ON:

Refrigerator compartment is set to +1°C for 12 hours.

SuperCool OFF:

The refrigerator compartment adjusts itself to the set target value.

Defrosting: - Automatic during compressor standstill phase.

- For colder target value settings, (+1°C, +2°C, +3°C), the compressor standstill phase is extended every 12 hours.

- From Index 20D: Every 12 hours until the evaporator probe reaches + 7°C.

Note: Replacing the electronics also affects earlier models.

Sensors

Air sensor Position: In the sensor holder on the right-hand side wall.

Function: Switches the compressor OFF.

Evaporator sensor: Position: Foamed-in behind the inner liner rear wall.

Function: - Switches the compressor ON.

- Ends the defrost phase.

Ambient sensor: Position: On the integral PCB.

Function: During cooler ambient temperatures, it switches on the panel heater.

Switches

Door switch: Position: On integral electronics.

Type: Magnetic field sensor Function: Activation via:

Magnet in the door. Magnet is foamed-in, not replaceable.

Switching signal when:

Door closed: Interior light OFF

Door open: Interior light ON

Consumers / Loads

LED interior light: Position: Inside left.

Function: - Lights up as soon as door is opened.

- Is switched OFF after door has been open for 15 minutes.

Panel heater Position: Foamed into the compressor step.

Function: Is activated automatically, depending on the ambient temperature sensor, in order to achieve adequate freezer compartment temperatures even with cooler room temperatures.

Condenser fan Position: In the compressor recess.

Function: Runs in parallel with the compressor in order to dissipate the heat

of the block wire condenser.
