FROM GEOFFREY’S DESK . . .
I heard several comments about this past Sunday’s demonstration of our upcoming Bible Trivia Night. I hope you will be making plans to be here this coming Sunday, October 3, from 5-8pm. In addition to games, we will also have a cookout and a devotional. It will be a great chance to get together, and I know it is going to be a good evening.
There are a number of events on the horizon, and I encourage you to take a look at this Messenger and add those to your calendar. Among those is a new Ladies Class that begins TONIGHT. It will meet at 6:30 in Room 102. The
new “packing up” date for Scott and Anna Rawlins is this Saturday morning at 9:00. More details are below. Scroll down for that and for various other events that will be taking place this month. I am thankful that more and more ways to get together are opening up for us, and I hope you will take advantage of them.

MIKED SINGERS ANNOUNCEMENT
Here is the text of the announcement that was made this past Sunday:
Anyone who has been part of this church for any length of time knows that we have a commitment to acappella singing in our worship assemblies. We share that in common with Churches of Christ across the world as we seek to speak to one another through the singing of psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16) in the way that the earliest of Christians did for centuries. Because of this commitment, we want our singing to be as uplifting as possible.
In this regard, we are looking to re-implement the use of miked singers to help with the singing in our Sunday morning worship assemblies. As before, the singers will be seated and not on the stage, but their contribution will allow us to
hear individual parts more clearly, and it can aid in the singing of newer or less familiar songs. Being part of this ministry will require a time commitment to make sure that everything is ready for our worship times, and the singers we are needing are not necessarily the strongest voices, but rather, voices that can blend with a group.
If you would be interested in being part of this ministry, or if you have further questions, please get in touch with Joel Ragland.
