Welcome to St. Louis Parish!

We are blessed by your presence with us today. Whether you are a long-time parishioner, relatively new to the parish, home from school, or visiting for the weekend, we are grateful that you have chosen to worship here at St. Louis Catholic Church. As Roman Catholics, the Holy Eucharist is the center of our lives, and the source or our mission.

Nourished by the Word of God, we strive to instill family values, promote social justice, and foster life-long formation in the Catholic faith. As we work together to build a community dedicated to living the Gospel, we commit ourselves to generous stewardship and the responsible use of our spiritual and material resources.

St. Louis Parish - Marian Year Prayer

Loving Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of the World, we your children, the members of St.

Louis Parish, come before you seeking your intercession as we honor you this year and as we prepare to consecrate our parish to you and your

motherly care.

We ask you to intercede with God our Almighty Father to look upon us with mercy and to forgive

our many sins against Him and our neighbors.

We ask you to intercede with your Most Holy Son to fill us with a spirit of repentance and reconciliation so that we may be ready to consecrate our parish

to you in purity of spirit.

We ask you to intercede with the Holy Spirit of God to purify and sanctify us as He purified and sanctified you throughout your entire life on earth from your holy and immaculate conception through

your most glorious assumption into heaven.

Finally, Most Holy Mother of God, we ask for your motherly love and care in our lives and in our parish, that we may consecrate ourselves to you.

Congratulations to our 47 candidates who received the Sacrament of Confirmation at St. Louis on Saturday, February 15, 2020. Archbishop Thompson was the celebrant of the ceremony. He met with the candidates and sponsors in the cafeteria an hour before the Confirmation Mass. He talked about the Sacraments, the sacred oils and the history and meaning of Confirmation. He challenged the candidates and sponsors to attend at least one Easter Vigil Mass, as it is the pivotal Mass of the year. He expressed the importance of staying strong in

professing our faith. Earlier this year, each candidate was asked to write a letter to the Archbishop. The Archbishop read excerpts from several of the letters during his homily. He told the candidates that the church needs each one of them, beyond this day and well into the future.

I would like to thank the candidates for taking their faith seriously and seeking this important step in their faith life, the sponsors for supporting the candidates on their journey, the parents for encouraging and supporting their children to grow in their faith, and the parishioners for praying for our candidates. I would like to thank the teachers and catechists, especially Kateri Paul and Kim Koehne for preparing the candidates.

I would also like to thank Mike Fritsch, Susan Kohrman and the choir members for making the ceremony beautiful; the sacristan, Dave Meyer, for making everything happen behind the scenes; and all those that helped prepare for and cleanup after the ceremony. Working with our youth is a team effort and I am blessed to be part of such a great team. It was a great day! Thank you! Sincerely, Amy Tonges
