Example Scenario – Extending On-Premise

Build a new application extension or a new UI on current processes

1. Expose process and data on existing back-end system in your data center via service (e.g. REST-based via SAP Gateway)

2. Integrate the on-premise business system with HCP (via SAP Cloud connector)

3. Rapidly build a modern and mobile UI (Fiori-like, HTML5 based) on HANA Cloud Platform

4. (optional): Enhance the solution with advanced mobile capabilities (HCPms) or by providing it via a portal site (HCP Portal)

5. (optional) Build new application logic on HANA Cloud Platform (HANA native, Java) using the HCP AppServices

6. (optional, recommended): Establish SSO. Re-use roles and users from your existing identity provider

7. Roll out the functionality to your users – to any device, anywhere

ON-PREMISE SOLUTION

Example Scenario – Cloud Analytics

1. Replicate required data from your on-premise system to the cloud (initial load, one-time)

2. Set up replication to keep data in the cloud updated (e.g. via data integration capabilities of SAP HANA Cloud Integration or via SLT)

3. Define your reports and views on your SAP HANA instance in the cloud or utilize the predefined HANA Live content for operational reporting

4. Build your reports and Dashboards in any way you want

 Development (HTML5 based Dashboards)

 Visualization tools (e.g. SAP Lumira)

(8)

Example Scenario – Cloud Extension

1. Utilize the SuccessFactors extension package from SAP

2. Choose from existing extensions available in the marketplace or build your own extension on HCP

3. Simple activation of extensions by the administrator

4. Extensions will be integrated fully in look and feel and navigation of SF

5. Have your end users use the extension like a native SF module.
