OVER VIEW Area Description
Tannay is situated in the centre of a wine-producing region, which spreads over chalk fields to produce excellent dry white wine.
Whilst you stroll down the roads and side streets you will discover many houses, which have exterior staircases, enclosed within either round or square towers.
Visit the House of “Chanoines”, rue de Beze where on its ground floor you will find the throne room with its ornamental fireplace, the first floor its room des Chapitres and lastly the Cellar where cannons guard each rack of wine. You must visit the “La Maison de la Vigne” (the house of the Vineyard) where you can find the old tools used in wine producing as well as those for cask making. From here you can visit the Relais Fleuri formerly the old coaching inn that is the most beautiful building in the village.
Finally and if you have the time and energy you could walk the 2 kms which separates the Chateau de Pignol and its fortified farm.

Out of Hours Arrival Procedures
The base will leave a note on the reception door indicating where the boat is and it will be left open. Staff will visit the clients the following morning to do the briefing. Base will normally wait for the client if they are arriving late on a Saturday.

Description of Cruising Area
From Tannay you can go to Decize on the Canal du Nivernais: 72 locks 99 kms 1 week; with quite a few locks but you will find a very beautiful wild landscape.
From Tannay you can go to Laroche Migennes going on the Canal du Nivernais then on the River Yonne from where you will be able to admire a nice wild landscape.
Mooring Fees
Thanks to the installations of water and electric terminals, moorings become possible; the price will vary according to the length of the boat between 6 and 18 € per night.
