This document has all the necessary information needed to install SAPGUI or Set Up your VPN client.

Do not start installation until you complete steps provided in Pre-requisites Section. You installation will fail thereby you will waste your time.

Do not call or send and email for help with installation. Create a HelpDesk Ticket at
http://www.TargetITtraining.com/HelpDesk. We will call you as necessary and help you via online meeting and by looking at your computer remotely.

Hamachi Network Name/Password
AND SAP Username and Password before stating Installation
If you have SAPGUI already installed go directly to Pg 3 for VPN set up and Pg 4 for SAP Account
Section 1: Pre-requisites
(This is a mandatory Section. Do not proceed without completing it) Rename your computer
Start > Right-click ‘My Computer’ > Properties
Look for ‘Computer Name’ Tab
Rename your computer
If you have enrolled into a program and have a trainee ID, enter Trainee ID<underscore>YourFirstName
If you do not have a Trainee ID, Enter your first and last name.
Restart your machine. Make sure you are connected to Internet Source Files – CD or Download
Option A: Copy Files from SAPGUI CD you have received from TargetIT. (If you have not received a CD go to Option B). When you visit TargetIT, please ask for one. Trainees of Online Class, request a CD by mail.
Go to Windows Explorer – Start > My Computer
Create a new Folder in My Documents and rename it ‘My SAP Training’
Insert SAPGUI CD into your computer

Section 2: SAP Installation
Go to ‘My SAP Training’ Folder you created earlier in Step 1
Look for ‘SetupAll.exe’ file. This file may be located within another folder
Double-click this file to start installation
If you see a system message similar to the follow, you should restart your computer – ‘your system is pending reboot’.
Installation will start
When you see following message
o If you are planning to learn these modules - CRM, FI, HR, MM, PP, SD, etc. check only ‘SAP GUI for Windows 7.10’
o If you are planning to take classes for BI Module too, check ‘Business Explorer’ too.
o If you are not sure, ‘Select All’
Installation will continue and your will see a message when it is completed. Click ‘Finish’ or any button that says the installation is done.
Look for the following shortcut
You will NOT be able to connect to SAP Server at this time.
You have few more steps to complete.
Section 3: ‘Hamachi’ – VPN
Client Installation
What is Hamachi or VPN Client?
‘Hamachi’ is a brand name of a Virtual Private Network Software of LogmeIn Company. VPN Software is needed to securely log on to remote servers. TargetIT has downloaded this software and added to your SAPGUI files for your convenience. You can also downloaded it
from http://www.hamachi.cc Go to ‘My SAP Training’ Folder you created earlier in Step 1 Look for ‘Hamachi’ VPN Client Software
Double-click setup.exe file
Provide your option to several system messages. If you do not know which option to pick for these messages, choose the default one or continue without taking any action Click ‘finish’ when completed.
Hamachi VPN Client Settings Go to your desktop
Look for a blue color circular icon with three white dots (color and shape of this icon may change if Hamachi brings out a new version).
Double-click the icon
You will see a vertical panel appearing on right side of your desktop Click power button
System will create an IP Address for you automatically

Section 4: Get SAP and VPN
Access Information
You need three pieces of Information to connect to SAP:
1. Information to be entered on Log-On Pad. Click yellow SAP shortcut. When you see Log-on pad window, click ‘New Item’ button and enter information show as below: For FICO, HR, MM, PP, SD or other logistics Modules For CRM module see another system (screen shot) below:

downloaded an Electronic copy of this Document, please create a HelpDesk ticket to
receive your Log on Information, write it down.

After two unsuccessful log-on attempts your account gets locked. It may take up to two business days to unlock an account. It is easier to get a quicker resolution to your password issue through http://www.goTargetIT.com/Helpdesk Telephone call or Email message about SAP access issues WILL not be returned or replied. * Change the password on your first log on, only if system prompts for change.
