I. DISCLAIMER

The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result from publications of or compliance with these rules and/or regulations. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee

against injury or death to a participant, spectator, or official. The race director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result from such alteration of specifications. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their

decision is final. It is the responsibility of the teams and competitors to present a legal race vehicle for competition. Any vehicle that with illegal modifications that pass through technical inspection undetected will be disqualified immediately upon detection of the infraction.

-1-II. BASIC GUIDELINES

A. SERIES reserves the right to update, modify, and/or delete rules at

any time deemed necessary to insure safety, fair competition or any other reason that may be appropriate.

B. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the SERIES officials. Any decision of and by SERIES Officials is final.

C. Unsportsmanlike-like conduct can carry a minimum $250.00 fine and/or suspension and/or loss of points. Any and all fines will be added to the point’s fund at the end of the racing season.

III. RULES AND SPECIFICATIONS

The word STOCK used within this set of rules means as originally

produced by the manufacturer for that make, model, and year of car with no altering or modifications.

Top five cars after race will go directly to tech and scales.

RADIOS RECOMMENDED: each team shall notify FUPS Officials of who is the spotter for each event.

WHEELS:

1. All wheels shall be 15”x8” steel, no aluminum wheels. 2. Must install minimum ½” wheel studs and 1” lug nuts. 3. No air bleeders or Pop Off Valves allowed.

TIRES:

1. Hoosier 750 Rights and lefts.

2. Must be stamped series approved tires.

3. Must meet tech approval. No Tire softening permitted. 4. No tire shall punch less than 50 on the durometer.

5. Cars must start the feature on the same tires they qualified on. 6. The Series will enforce the tire purchase rule of 4-2-2.

ROLL CAGE:

1. Roll cage design must be rounded steel tubing, minimum 1 3/4” OD, with a minimum wall thickness of .095. No Black Iron Pipe.

2. All roll bars around driver’s area shall be padded.

3. Must have full roll cage with a minimum of 4 gusseted door bars on driver’s side and minimum of 3 gusseted door bars on the right side.

4. May use 2”x2” or 2”x3” square tubing outside of the frame on driver’s side. Must weld down bars to frame on right side of car. 5. May run minimum of 2 bars back to rear frame rails minimum of

1 ¾” OD steel tubing.

7. Front hoop ok, 1 ¾”OD steel tubing.

8. Front down bar must follow contour of front window post. No more than six inches behind window post.

9. Cross bracing is permitted.

-2-CRATE ENGINES: 602 Only Create Allowed. No Others!

1. Engine will be checked first time of competition for compliance. 2. Carburetor: Part Number 80541-1-650 Holley Only.

3. 1” Spacer Plate allowed. 1.125 totals with gaskets. 4. GM Max of 160 pounds of compression.

5. May not use double roller timing chain & gear, non-adjusting. 6. Crate Engines will be checked like any other motor in accordance

with the GM Tech Manual and by FUPS Tech Officials. Seals are NOT required.

7. No other changes allowed; this Engine will tech like all other FUPS Sportsman approved engines.

8. Crate Engines if found illegal will be toss on 1st offense, 2nd

Offense owner/driver will be fined $500.00 and loss of points. BLOCK for BUILT ENGINES:

1.

Chevy 362 cubic in. max., Chrysler 360, Ford, 351 allowed. No Aluminum Blocks or Heads Allowed. 350’s must run 350 Heads. 2. Engine location: #1 spark plug hole even with or in front of ball

joint. No engine set back tolerance!!!

3. You may clean up casting flaws in lifter galley and oil drains. No other grinding anywhere block allowed.

4. Screen kits allowed.

5. Block may be 2 or 4 bolt main caps; no splayed caps allowed. 6. Block deck may be resurfaced for square-ness not to exceed 0-

deck height.

7. Piston may not extend out of block. 8. Fasteners Builder’s choice.

9. May paint inside of block. CARBURETOR:

1. Must be Stock Holley 4412, 500 CFM 2 Barrel 2. Air Box Allowed

3. Carburetor spacer or 1.625 total including gaskets. 0-Tolerance. 4. May remove carburetor choke plate.

5. May change power valve. 6. Any jet is allowed.

7. Must pass series or track gauge.

8. Any illegal carburetor will be confiscated and disposed of at FUPS Sportsman Series tech official’s discretion

9. NO Electric Fuel Pumps Allowed.

10. Fuel supply line shall not run through driver’s compartment. 11. Carburetor Fuel Bowl to face front of car.

12. Must run gasoline or track race fuel, no fuel additives allowed. 13. Minimum of 2- throttle return springs.

VALVES:

1. Stock production or OEM replacements only. 2. May use one-piece stainless steel.

3. No lightweight valves allowed.

4. No tulip or back cut valves allowed. 5. No back facing.

6. Maximum Sizes: GM Intake 1.94 Exhaust 1.50

Chrysler Intake 1.92 Exhaust 1.625 Ford Intake 1.94 Exhaust 1.60

-3-7. Stock valve train only with the following exceptions: a. Three angle valve jobs ok.

b. Poly Locks ok. c. Screw in Studs ok.

d. Any valve spring may be used as long as spring seat remains stock diameter and is un-machined. Max outside diameter 1.260.

e. May use 7 degrees or 10 degrees steel valve locks. INTAKE MANIFOLD:

1. Any cast or Aluminum intake W/4.5 plenum height. 2. No porting or polishing, no coatings of any kind. 3. May run Eldebrock #2901 with single 1 1/16” gasket. 4. No Bowtie.

5. Max Spacer 1.625” with gasket. CYLINDER HEAD:

1. Max. Compression is 10 to 1, No Bowtie Heads.

2. No porting, grinding, polishing, or gasket matching.

3. World Product S.R. #4360 or #4361, DART #10024360 or #10021070, & RHS #12400 or #12407 heads are the only approved aftermarket Heads. Vortec Heads allowed. Closed Chamber Heads add 100lbs. 4. Last cut no more than 80 degrees on seat.

5. No angle milling.

6. No acid washing or sand blasting of ports. 7. Screw in studs and guide plates OK.

8. Spring retainers must be steel only, no aluminum or titanium. 9. No shaft mounted rocker assemblies, unless factory design. 10. Any cylinder head that has had casting numbers ground will be

illegal. PISTONS:

1. Piston pin height must remain stock. 2. Any Flat Top or Dish Piston allowed. CAMSHAFT:

1. Any Hydraulic type cam allowed. Degree bushings permitted. 2. Stock type lifters, no roller or mushrooms.

3. Cam button and locking plate permitted. 4. Roller Rockers and Stud girdle permitted. 5. Poly Locks OK.

6. Rocker duration engine builder option. CRANKSHAFT:

1. Must remain stock for engine used. 2. Must be OEM or Stock replacement. 3. No Knife edged crankshafts.

4. Balancing permitted.

5. No lightweight crankshafts.

6.

Must weigh a minimum 50lbs. for steel, 47lbs. for cast iron on 7. Track scales.

1. Any Steel Rod, minimum weight 1250gms. Piston/Rod assembly as pulled from motor.

2. Stock Length and weight for block used. 3. Balancing is permitted.

4. After market rod bolts OK.

5. Piston pin may be floating or press in. ENGINE MISCELLANEOUS:

1. May use cast iron exhaust manifold.

2. Headers Optional; Ok to wrap headers. Must extend past driver or passenger doors.

3. Stock HEI or single point ignition; Stock coil, Stock type module. NO MSD or similar spark intensifier boxes permitted. Optional Distributor; MSD-8365 may be used.

4. One 12 volt battery per car.

5. May use aluminum crank and water pump pulleys. 6. No electric water pumps.

7. Aluminum timing covers permitted. 8. Oil coolers are permitted.

9. High volume oil pumps are permitted. 10. Crate Engines, 7” Oil Pan permitted. 11. Aftermarket oil pump pickup is permitted. 12. Crank scraper or windage trays are permitted. 13. Solid motor mounts are permitted.

14. No high performance or turbo parts allowed.

15. Solid throttle parts only; no cables of any kind.

16. Must have fuel shut-off valve mounted and clearly labeled for easy access for Safety Crews.

17. Harmonic Balancers; stock type with SFI rating, no aluminum. 18. Starter must be Stock type or Mini Starter. No reverse mount

allowed.

19. Aluminum Water Pump Allowed.

20. Must have removable plug in oil pan for inspection. 21. May use roller rockers and stud girdle.

WEIGHT:

1.

All cars must weigh a minimum of 3000 pounds after race. 2. Left side weight maximum will be 56% of the total weight. 3. No weight breaks for Crate Motors.

ADDED WEIGHT:

1. Weight must meet all requirements, both total and left side bias, at the completion of any race or at any time. All weights will be made with driver sitting in driver’s seat, with steering wheel in place, Hands on wheel and helmet in lap.

2. Any weight of any type added for any purpose, including but not limited to bringing up a car to the minimum restriction or adding ballast must be installed safely & secure. This installation is subject to inspection and approval of the Series Officials at any

-5-3. Weight must be secured with two 1/2” bolts and washers per 50lbs. 4. All weight pieces must be painted white and contain car number.

5. All added weight must be mounted to frame. No mounting on bumpers, firewall, floor pan, or within the driver’s compartment.

6. Any loss of weight from car, for any reason, will result in disqualification.

7. No part of a car will be added back if a part is lost.

8. If FUPS Officials deem that a car has an advantage in any manner, They can add weight to said car for that event.

RADIATOR:

1. Stock OEM or Aluminum.

2. Must be mounted in front of engine. 3. Plastic or metal fans only.

4. Absolutely no Anti-Freeze. If caught you will receive fine. 5. Cooling Fan Option: Electric or Fan.

CAR TYPE:

1.

Any American made car with a minimum of 105” factory

wheelbase, which shall be stock for that car. Examples Camaro, Nova, Monte Carlo, Cutlass, etc.

2. Uni-body Cars: See Frame Rules. FRAME:

1. No High Performance (Corvette), Station Wagons, Trucks, or Convertibles. 2. May be fabricated from firewall, Full frame cars must keep 18 inches of right

side Frame rail. If not to firewall add 50 lbs in front of firewall. 3. No holes cut to lighten frame.

4. Frame made be strengthen by Xing.

5. 50 lb penalty if narrowed in front of flywheel.

6. Ground clearance minimum is 4” measured behind front tire and in front of rear tire.

7. Front cross member must remain original and in stock location. May be notched and boxed for fuel pump, headers & oil pan only.

8. May box in stock frame side rails.

9. May build motor for solid mounts. #1 spark plug must be even or ahead of left upper ball joint. 12” minimum from center line of crank shaft to the ground. 10. Engine must be centered between frame rails; 1” tolerance.

11. Crossmember must retain stock dimensions from bottom of cross member to lower control arm pickup points. If crossmember has been modified other than fuel pump area a 50 lb weight penalty will be added in front of flywheel.

UNIBODY ONLY:

1. All frame rails must remain stock for that year of car. May not be moved. LS frame offset Max. 16” excluding 4” for weight tray.

2. May be tubed from stock clip.

3. Roll cage must be mounted to frame rails. If frame rail on driver’s side does not extend out to rocker panel then stock rocker panel must remain in place out on left side only. If not stock, you may build proper driver’s box.

4. Adjustable shackles permitted on leaf spring cars, sliders ok. 5. Jacking Bolts permitted on coil spring cars. (Four)

6. Adjustable lowering blocks permitted. 7. No Carbon Fiber Springs

8. Leaf Springs, Chevy, Chrysler, or mono okay, Must be Stock. 9. 50 lbs in front of flywheel.

-6-BUMPERS:

1. Stock Bumper not allowed.

2. Must be rounded on ends and braced back to frame. Absolutely no sharp edges on any piece of the bodywork or the Bumpers. All corners, edges, and protrusions must be rounded. May be braced back to the frame or cage with one inch pipe only. NO SOLID BARS. Bracing may not extend more than 6” past the point where it

connects to the frame.

3. Rub Rails: (one per side) may be used. 1” square tubing or aftermarket Lexan. (Performance Bodies, 5 Star Bodies)

4. Bumper heights will be measured from ground to center of main bumper bar:

a. Minimum 17” b. Maximum 19”

c. Must fit covers see BUMPER RULE BODY:

1. Body may be Steel, Aluminum, or Fiberglass, No Carbon Fiber Bodies Allowed.

2. Roof May Be: Stock Steel, after market steel, or fiberglass. Absolutely no Carbon Fiber, Any excessive narrowing of the B and C posts may result in a weight penalty. Roof height must measure A minimum of 47” from ground to center of roof.

3. Driver side window opening from top of door to bottom edge of roof must be a minimum of 14”.

4. Ground clearance must be a minimum of 4” body and frame, nose and skirt.

5. Full windshield mandatory, you may use minimum 1/8 “Lexan for windshield. No Plexiglas or glass.

6. Rear window optional.

7. Offset bodies permitted considering that roll cage meets requirements.

8. Plastic nosepiece is mandatory. May use dirt plastic nose and fenders.

9. No roof rails. No rear window rails.

10. There must be no sharp edges on any piece of bodywork or bumpers. All corners, edges, and protrusions must be rounded.

11. An opening may be cut out of hood for air cleaner clearance. 12. Tailpiece is optional.

13. Hood is mandatory and must maintain OEM stock appearance. 14. Fiberglass hood permitted.

15. Must have permanent fasteners installed, minimum of either four hood pins or two hood pins and two hinges.

16. Hood must fit flat to fenders.

17. No car will be permitted to start the race without a hood.

18. Hoods lost during a racing accident are excused and the hood must be beyond repair before car may re-enter a race. Repair or

replacement must be completed before next race. 19. Rear deck lid must open for inspection.

20. Air box cannot extend past width of radiator, no belly pans under nose piece.

-7-REAR SPOILER:

1. Non Adjustable Lexan or Aluminum Only. Maximum height 6”, maximum Width 60”.

2. Must be flat with no lip.

3. Spoiler may be braced on front or back. Front braces cannot be higher than spoiler. Track reserves right to have you remove any braces that do not conform.

INTERIOR:

1. Driver’s compartment must be completely sealed from fuel cell with minimum of 20-gauge steel.

2. May box interior with steel or aluminum.

3. All holes in firewall and floor pan must be covered with steel. 4. Rocker panels may be removed.

5. May run exhaust over right frame rail and out door. Must be covered with minimum 20 gauge steel.

SUSPENSION:

1. Any steel body racing shock is permitted. No aluminum body, no external oil tanks on shocks, no remote mounted

reservoir. No Adjustable Shocks allowed.

2. $125.00 retail price limit on each shock. Example Carrera- 31&21 series: Pro Shocks- WB Series, QA1 50 Series and AFCO.

3. No more than one shock absorber per wheel. 4. Front & Rear shocks may be relocated.

5. Control arm bushing material optional. No offset bushing. 6. Front Lower Control Arm, must remain stock; stock location. 7. May use tubular upper A- Frames any length. Non Adjustable.

Upper A-Frame mounts and Points Optional.

8. Stock type Sway Bar or Original Howe Design only, no heim joints. 9. Shocks may be mounted to lower A-Arms.

10. Center- link of steering linkage may be spaced upward or downward. Aftermarket Center Link OK.

11. Ball joints: non adjustable or take apart ball joints allowed. May run different lengths on ball joints.

12. Stock OEM Spindles only, may interchange within manufacture only. Safety Hubs are permitted, no aluminum.

13. Leaf Spring Chassis may not use fiberglass or composite. 14. Any Steel Racing Spring Is Allowed.

15. Three Link Suspension permitted. STEERING:

1. Steering Box must remain in Original Stock Location. 2. No Rack And Pinion allowed, original OEM must be used.

3. After-Market power steering pumps allowed and must be driven off Crankshaft pulley.

4. Steering Wheel Disconnect Is Mandatory. 5. Collapsible Steering Shaft is allowed.

6. Pittman arm, drag link, inner tie rods are to remain stock. Outer tie rod ends may be replaced with heims, and may be spaced up or down for bump steer.

-8-BRAKES:

1. May run disc.

2. May use proportioning valve.

3. Brake lines must be OEM or steel braided only. 4. All cars must be equipped with four wheel brakes.

5. No Aluminum calipers allowed on front. Howe calipers OK. Single Piston calipers only.

6. May use aftermarket Brake pedals and master cylinder. 7. No drilling of rotors.

READEND:

1. Stock OEM or Ford 9 Inch.

2. Must be locked via welding or solid spool. Full spool ok. 3. Floaters Permitted. No polishing or lightening of the tubes. 5. Quick Change Permitted. Steel Tubes Only. No Wide Fives. No

Chamfered tubes on any housing. All above rules apply to Quick Change’s also.

6. No Posi, Lockers, Gold Tracks, or Tru Tracks are permitted TRANSMISSION:

1. Stock OEM – 3&4 Speeds only – no automatics.

2. Two forward gears must be in working order with reverse.

3. Stock Clutch minimum 10” Solid hub clutch ok. Must have pad or full circle.

4. May use heavy-duty replacement pressure plate and disk. No aluminum allowed.

5. Flywheel-standard transmission any stock flywheel the same make as the car. No Light Weight Parts: 10,000 RPM etc...

6. All flywheels will be weighed on Track scales. Fly wheel weigh minimum of 14 pounds.

7. Standard transmission must use shatter proof bell housing. 8. After market shifters permitted.

9. 2” hole in bell housing for inspection.

10. 2 drive-shaft safety loops mandatory. Within 15” of front U Joint.

11. Drive shaft must be painted white, add car number. No Aluminum Drive Shafts Allowed. No carbon fiber.

12. May use hydraulic release bearing and push pull slave cylinder. 13. Cars with 7 ¼” Multi Disc clutch will be required to weigh

3100lbs. and 55% Left Side. No clutch smaller than 7 ¼” will be allowed.

FUEL-FUEL CELL:

1. Approved Racing Fuel Cell with an aluminum 20 gauge Steel Can must be used. And securely installed with series approved mounting frame.

2. No aluminum or boat tanks. 3. Maximum 22 gallon fuel cell.

4. A firewall made of at least 20 gauge metal must be installed between driver and fuel cell.

5. Must have rear cell protection bar of 1.75 with 095 wall Tubing extending below the rear of the frame and at least

½” below the bottom of the fuel cell and cover the width of the fuel cell. Must be minimum of 9” off the ground.

-9-6. Must have foam and roll-over valve in vent.

7. Only one fuel cell line permitted to transport fuel from fuel cell to fuel pump. Do not run fuel line through driver’s area. 8. No Additional fuel cells or fuel containers permitted.

9. No Electric Fuel Pumps.

10. Regular Pump Gas No Additives or Race Gas only. Track Approved. 11. No Trick Additives Allowed. No Alcohol.

12. No Fuel Cooling Devices Allowed.

13. Racing fuel will be available at the race track. SAFETY ITEMS:

1. Seat Belts shall not be older than three years of Date of Manufacture.

2. Drivers Window Nets shall not be older than three years of Date of Manufacture. They shall be a Quick Release type, with a Minimum of 26”wide X 16”high with a rating of SFI 27.1 Spec. 3. Drivers Fire Suit shall be free of any holes or tears.

4. Drivers Helmet & Racing Gloves shall not be older than three years of Date of Manufacture.

5. On board Fire Bottle must be up to date and certified.

III. OFFICIAL DECISIONS:

1. Any situation not specifically covered in these rules will be acted upon by the official or SERIES officials in charge at the time, whose decision will be final and binding on all,

participants.

2. Any disagreement over technical questions or operations will be resolved by SERIES officials. When their decision is rendered, such decision is final and binding.

3. Continuous developments in racing may necessitate changes which cannot be anticipated at the time rules are formulated. If

necessary, rules may be updated, changed, deleted or added to at the discretion of the officials.

4. At certain events, to encourage participation of local

competitors, the officials may alter the rules for those cars to try and create a level playing field for cars that might fall outside of the normal rules. Official’s decisions are final.

Membership Fee; In order to compete in any FUPS event for points or

contingency awards, drivers and car owners must purchase a Florida United Promoters Series $200.00 membership. A owner/driver must register a number with the series. Any member who permits another

person to use his or her membership card for entry will be subject to a fine of $500.00 and possible suspension and loss of points. If driver and owner are the same, one membership per car shall be allowed.

Awards & Contingencies: Only FUPS Members who participate in at least

80% of all races held shall be eligible for any contingencies, end of the season awards, point monies, etc... You must attend the season ending banquet to receive any prizes, point money, awards etc.

Protest Fee; only a FUPS “Member” may post a protest of another

-10-IV. RACE PROCEDURES AND GENERAL CONDUCT GUIDELINES

DRIVERS MEETING:

1. SERIES Officials will hold a Drivers meeting at each event. At this

meeting all new or special information that may vary from the rulebook will be announced, and then be considered official. 2. A roll call will start each meeting.

3. The driver, crew chief and spotter from each team are required to attend each drivers meeting.

4. Failure of the driver, crew chief or spotter to attend the meeting will result in the driver starting in the rear of the field

regardless of their qualifying time. QUAILIFYING PROCEDURES:

1. The order of events, including qualifying order will be posted at the Infield Tech Building and around the speedway. This information shall be posted at each FUPS Event it is each team’s responsibility to follow & stay on time with said procedures.

2. Qualifying order, if applicable, will be determined by team preference based on the order of entries received at the SERIES office. (For example, the first entry received will get first pick of position in qualifying order and so on.)

3. Teams will have one chance to qualify. Once the car has taken the green flag their attempt has started.

4. The number of cars that will be inspected will be the choice of

SERIES Officials.

5. No driver may attempt to qualify more than one car for the same event.

6. Any car not clearing post-qualifying inspection will have their time revoked and moved to the bottom of the order.

7. When two or more cars have duplicate times, the tiebreaker will be to revert back to their other lap.

8. SERIES Officials reserves the right to add 2 starting provisional,

they must be FUPS Members. The series director & track owner shall have the final decision.

RACE PROCEDURES:

1. All drivers must be on time and lined up for the main event or heat race they are to compete in.

2. Once the green flag has been displayed the race has started, no driver may change cars or use a backup car.

3. The Starter will control all starts.

4. All restarts will be double file with lead lap cars only. The starter will start the event at the designated start point. (SEE #20)

5. The free pass will be given to the first car one lap or more down At the caution flag. At which point the driver will be instructed to pass the pace car and line up at the end of the lead lap cars (See #20)

6. The free pass will only be used when there have been two laps of green flag racing consecutive. (See #20)

7. The free pass will not be given to any driver who brings out the caution flag, The free pass will not be given inside of ten (10)

laps remaining in the event. (SEE #20)

-11-8. All cars involved in an accident will be sent to the rear of the field on the restart. The term “involved” is at the discretion of

SERIES officials.

9. Cars must report to tech area or victory lane as directed by SERIES officials.

10. Teams must not go on the racetrack for any reason. All repairs must be performed in pit area.

11. No car may pass the pace car or race leader unless instructed by tour officials. Any car illegally passing the pace cars or race leader will be assessed a 1 lap penalty.

12. No car will be allowed to continue in the race event should series officials deem the car is a hazard to other competitors or race fans.

13. Any driver who attempts to bring out a caution or intentionally causes a caution will be assessed a 1 lap penalty.

14. Cars must take the checkered flag on the racetrack in order to claim the win. Any rain out or stopped event because of track conditions or curfew at one lap past half way will be considered a complete race.

15. Any car not obeying the stop and go sign on pit road will be black flagged and return to the pits for a “Stop and go” penalty.

16. Cars must maintain a reasonable safe speed while in the pit area. 17. All race procedures are subject to judgment calls by series

officials, as they may deem necessary. These judgment calls are considered final and are not eligible for appeal.

18. All cars must be able to maintain a minimum lap time of no less than 2 seconds a lap less than the leader. In the event that a car cannot maintain a minimum speed they will be sent to the pit area for the remainder of the event.

19. Any car involved in 3 cautions will be sent to the pits for the remainder of the event.

20. The SERIES Officials may or may not utilize double file restarts or

free pass, as noted above, specifics will be addressed in the drivers meeting accordingly.

INSPECTION:

1. All vehicles will be inspected during the course of the event at the discretion of the SERIES tech director. All Inspections will be performed as designated by the tech director and may vary from event to event.

2. Cars, parts and/or equipment will not be considered as having been approved by having passed through inspection at any time or number of times unobserved or undetected.

3. Rules are “No Tolerance” unless specified. Failure to comply with

SERIES rules may result in disqualification from qualifying

position, finishing position or the event entirely.

4. All SERIES approved weighing, measuring, testing devices and

procedures used by technical officials are the standard that

determines a vehicle compliance with SERIES rules and regulations. No other equipment or device may be used unless approved by the

SERIES tech director. The decision of rules infractions during post

director shall be final.

5. SERIES officials reserve the right to confiscate any illegal and

or unapproved part(s).

-12-6. Any use of components utilizing mercury shall be deemed to render the vehicle ineligible to compete in the event and such violation shall be reported to the proper authorities.

7. SERIES officials reserve the right to impound the racecar at any

time.

8. All Florida United Promoters Series approved engines will be

confiscated as one piece and sent to a FUPS approved engine builder for tear down if needed. The Series will do it’s best to complete inspection of an engine on the same date as the FUPS race.

9. If the competitor being protested is legal, that competitor will receive the entire amount of the protest fee. If the competitor being protested is illegal, the entire protest fee will be returned to the competitor filing the protest. The illegal parts, engine, etc. will become the property of FUPS and not returned to the competitor found illegal.

10. The decisions made during the protest and the conduct in which the protest is handled is at the sole discretion of the SERIES tech director.

PENTALTIES:

1. Penalties for violation of SERIES rules are determined by the gravity of the violation and its effect on the fairness of

competition, the orderly conduct of the event and the interest of stock car racing and the series. Such penalties may include, but are not limited to, Disqualification, Suspension of a membership or license privileges, fines and or loss of points. The series director may use the following as guidelines for imposition of penalties in the situations described below, but these guidelines shall not limit the authority of the series Officials.

2. Any competitor that performs an act or participates in actions

deemed by any SERIES official as detrimental to automobile racing or to series, fine of at least $ 500.00 and competitor may also be sentenced to suspension and/or loss of points.

3. Any competitor who permits anyone else to use his/her membership for entry; Fine of least $500.00, and/or loss of points.

4. Any competitor who signs the release sheet or competitor pit permit for anyone else; a fine of at least $500.00, and/or suspension, and/or loss of points.

5. Any competitor who assaults or threatens to do bodily harm to any

SERIES Official or persons serving under their direction; a minimum

fine of $1,000.00, and/or suspension, and/or loss of points, and shall be removed from the venue by the local Law Agencies.

6. Any competitor while participating in an SERIES event partakes of any alcoholic beverage, stimulating, depressing or tranquilizing drugs or is otherwise under the influence; will result in a minimum fine of $2,500.00 and suspension and loss of points. DON’T DO IT! 7. Any competitor who participates in fights in the pit area, or on the

premises; a minimum fine of $1000.00, and/or suspension, and/or loss of points, suspension and shall be escorted out by the local Law Agencies.

8. Any car found to have traction control (working or not); a minimum fine of $5,000.00 and loss of points for the year.

9. All drivers will be held accountable for the action of their crew, crew chiefs and any other family members or persons signed in under said driver/owner at all times.

1. Involved in the accident or stopping on the track resulting in caution.

2. Speeding through the pit area. B. Stop & go Penalty

1. Jumping the start or restart.

2. Run the stop & go sign on pit road. 3. Start out of position.

C. Lap(s) or time penalty

1. Unauthorized pass of the pace car. 2. Failure to obey Officials or flag man. 3. Intentionally causing a yellow flag. D. Black Flag

1. Work on car while on the track. 2. Ignore the black flag.

3. Rough or reckless driving.

4. Actions deemed detrimental to auto racing. APPEALS:

1. A car owner or driver who is a FUPS Member may file an appeal

against any penalty or fine imposed by the SERIES Race Director, provide that the individual submits intent to appeal letter to the Race Director with three (3) days of the penalty notice.

2. Appeals must be in writing and accompanied by the non-refundable appeal fee of $1,000.00.

3. The Board of appeals shall be responsible for the timely and orderly disposal of such appeals. The board shall be comprised of competitors or Officials at the discretion of the series director. The time and date of such hearing will be as soon as possible at the Race Director’s sole discretion.

4. Three members shall constitute a quorum

5. The hearing will be conducted in the manner best suited to the relevant facts.

6. The appellant may file a final appeal against the SERIES

Commissioner. She/he may review information concerning the appeal and the decision may be based on that evidence or may hold another hearing. 7. Neither the board nor the Commissioner shall order an event to be rerun.

8. Race procedure calls are considered judgment calls and are not eligible for appeal
