André Roland is active since more than 25 years in the field of intellectual property, initially as search and substantive examiner at the European Patent Office in Berlin, then as IP Manager of a successful pharmaceutical Company in Lausanne , and finally as a Founder and Managing Partner of a leading IP firm in Switzerland. Since 2010 he also acts as a Judge at the Swiss Federal Patent Court, on a part time basis. Over his career, André has developed significant technical expertise in the following technical fields:

Bruno Weihs, Senior Partner

Bruno Weihs has gained experience in the field of Intellectual Property for more than 22 years. After completing a full year of postgraduate studies in IP, Bruno worked in the patent departments of renown international companies in the fields of high tech and consumer electronics in Berlin and Paris, toping his industry experience as Patent Manager of a French private television company. He then entered private practice by founding a private practice in France together with a US IP firm, and later working in British and Swiss firms, travelling frequently to Japan, China and the US, specializing in assisting Japanese applicants to obtain their rights in Europe and the US. Bruno is an active member of the European Qualification Committee since he became European Patent Attorney in 2000. He is also in charge of the Paris based branch office of the firm.

Dr. Nikolaus “Nik” Schibli is an associate at André Roland, counseling clients on all aspects of Intellectual Property law related to the United States.

Dr. Schibli has worked for over a decade in leading law firms in the United States, and brings extensive knowledge and experience of U.S. patent and legal procedures. He counsels clients on a broad range of Intellectual Property issues including: patent drafting and prosecution, freedom to operate and invalidity opinions, licensing agreements, research and development agreements, open source licensing strategies, post-grant procedures, and patent litigation in the United States. Specifically, Dr. Schibli has wide-ranging experience in preparing European-based companies in the pursuit of their intellectual property goals within the United States market.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Dr. Schibli was actively involved in research and business development. He worked as a manager in the technical fields of power electronics, control systems, image processing, vision systems and software.
