REGULAR SCHOOL BOARD MEETING INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 882

MONTICELLO, MINNESOTA

The Monticello Board of Education held their organizational school board meeting on Monday, March 7th, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Middle School Board Room. Board Members Present: Jill Bartlett, Melissa (Missy) Hanson, Carol McNaughton, Robbie Smith, William (Bill) Spartz and Dr. Jim Johnson, Superintendent. Board Members Absent: Jeff Hegle Also present: District Administrators and community guests.

6. Request for a Change in the Course Requirements for Algebra B2 2B at

Monticello High School – Linda Borgerding, Director of Curriculum and Instruction requested a change of graduation math course credits. The High School Math Department requests that Algebra 2B be changed from a full-year course to a

semester long course starting in the 2016-2017 school year. The math department has shown that the Algebra 2 benchmarks can be covered within the parameters of Algebra 2A as a full-year course and Algebra 2B as a semester course.

Jim Johnson, Superintendent reported board members Robbie Smith and Carol McNaughton, met with Kids Castle Daycare to discuss childcare possibilities and different options/directions for the future childcare programming.
