MiCOM S1 Studio V5.0.0 Release note #6
Release V5.0.0
This release provides a full installation of Schneider-Electric MiCOM S1 Studio V5.0.0. - It supersets version V4.0.1.
- Please at installation, remove any previous version of MiCOM S1 Studio (do not remove the data models). Your database and systems will not be removed.
- Install afterwards MiCOM S1 Studio V5.0.0.
How to install
This installation
- is to be downloaded to your hard disk for later installation by running the .exe file
- is providing an installation shield for a most convenient upgrade of your MiCOM S1 Studio - retains all existing systems (or projects)
1. New features
Schneider-Electric MiCOM S1 Studio V5.0.0 provides the following enhancements and features to MiCOM S1 Studio V4.0.1:
1. Downloading Single/part of setting to relay
Capability to send to the relay by a serial communication (local or remote, front and rear communication ports) a single setting or a group of setting (the one(s) that has been changed) to the relay (P10, P20 and P40.
This feature will made MiCOM S1 Studio homogenous with P30 option/features.
2. XML export
Additional export format that could be easily editer and modified with current web tools.
This XML export will export all setting/information/data from any platform relays.
It could be used to customers as archive documents. 3. IEC 61850 configurator
IEC 61850 Configurator will now manage Ed1 and Ed2. Same customer's HMI.
Automatic Ed1 & Ed2 file management and importation (proper edition will be opened automatically)
Fully in ligne with Px4x new hardware platform (P30 will follow in next release)

Discovery feature: a list of device will be provided over any communication support.
The list will provide IED information such as: address.
The list refreshed in life time if a new IED is found or disconnected. From the listed device, the user could peform setting/record/event upload
or place the device in a existing system. 5. Cyber Security
Related on to P40 CS embedded function (P30 is schedule in next release to match with P30 CS relay project).
Default password is set to "AAAA". Impacted module by Cyber Security :

6. Dual Communication

9. User define Signal Naming (Px3x relays)
Up to date USB driver (computer) has been implemented.
MiCOM S1 Studio will install the corresponding USB driver related to the
PC environment.
10. Px1x USB driver
Px43 platform alignement. New protocol available for P3àrelay ranges.
11. Polish language Support
Installation of Micom S1 Studio in polish language is now available
(menus).
12. MiCOM S1 Studio vulnerability issue.
Issued from the American Agency (NERC) report, the V5.0.0 release is
solving any of vulnerability issues.
After S1 installation file/folder could be remove/deleted or exchange: Folders and files that must be marked “Read” only.
Window service DLL must be marked to “Read” as solution to solve privileges issues.

Windows compatibility:
V5.0.0 is qualified with and verified on Windows 7 32 bits. V5.0.0 is not designed or verified on Windows Vista. Eview and GOOSE editor are not Windows 7 qualified
MiCOM S1 Studio is compliant to Windows 7 (64 bits). (qualification planed in next 2014 release).
Px4x Text editor is not functioning on W7 64 bits.
