It could mean that the bank branch code length within the IBAN is incorrect or that the bank branch code entered may contain invalid characters. This usually occurs when an IBAN with an incorrect length is entered.

003 Check digit number does not pass the known national format. The IBAN being validated contains an invalid two‐digit check digit value. This value is found in the third and fourth position of the IBAN structure most of the time.

004 Bank Branch Code entered is not found in our database. When the bank branch code within the IBAN structure is not found in the Accuity database, IBAN Complete is unable to validate the individual components of the IBAN. If this occurs, it could mean that the bank branch code entered is not active in Accuity’s database. This could be the result of a recent change in the status of the code due to a merger, acquisition, bank closing or a data‐entry error. It could also be other general issues, such as typos by the user.
