Player Guide

Last updated 4-6-2014

So excited you just can’t stand it and HAVE to get started RIGHT NOW?! Here is a quick start guide for you to get going but make sure to check out the other sections of the guide to give you more details on this server including the Points Systems available, Account Management, Important Vendors, and other insider details!

Quick Start Guide

You have created your new PlayRF USA account and are ready to go smash the other races? While we admire your enthusiasm there are a few things that you need to tend to first. Log into the game and create your new character. Once you have created your character and you are standing in your Race’s HQ you will want to quit out of the game as there are a couple things to do on the website before you get started.

Log in to the Account Management on the PlayRF USA website go to the ‘Lottery’ section and click the ‘Event Lottery’ link and register for the monthly lottery; it’s free and you can win 5,000 GP for winning. You will definitely want a VIP Jade, which adds increased EXP, Drops, and Speed, from the ‘GP Shop’ section but before you can get that you need some GP. Let’s get you some quick free GP. Go to the ‘Vote GP’ section and perform your votes for the PlayRF USA server. You will get GP for each vote site you vote on. You can only vote once per site every 12 hours. Now that you have GP go to the ‘GP Shop’ click on ‘VIP Jades’ under the Rental group and purchase the best VIP Jade you can afford as this will help A LOT when leveling. It’s time to login to the game and get leveling!

While you were logged out you received some free game money and gold. You will start in HQ near the

Beginner Vendor. Click on this vendor and purchase a Beginner JetPack, a stack of HQ Teleport Scrolls,

and a Jade of Freedom which allows you to party with any level. The Jades are very cheap so I

recommend buying a 99 stack of the Jade of Freedom so you can easily see the difference between your VIP Jade and your Jade of Freedom in your inventory. Since you are already level 65 the next step is to head to your Race’s Hero of Progression or Race Manager to perform your Class Promotions.

Remember that you have 2 promotions to complete and if you make a mistake or want to change promotions in the future you get 5 free Class Redefines a month which you can perform at the Hero of

Progression. After you have completed both of your promotions you should be able to equip the

Armors and Weapon that you received. While you could start leveling now you really will want to ensure that you have Charms and Generators first as these will make a GREAT difference in your attack, defense, etc. These will cost more money than you have, but you should be able to farm enough money to purchase these pretty quickly. Head to the outbound portal in HQ and port to the Sette Desert map. This is the farming map; just run to the monsters, kill the monsters, and loot the items. Plan on 10-15 minutes of farming to get enough money for Charms and Generators and a couple bucks left over for some HP potions. When you are done farming head back to HQ, sell the loot you picked up for gold, head to the Banker and use the ‘Exchange’ option to change your gold to race money. It’s now time to buy your Charms and Generators. Your primary focus should be Recovery Charms, Burst Generators,

(2)

and Protect Generators. If you have enough money there are other Charms and Generators that are helpful available in the vendor. Remember that you can purchase the Charms and Generators for a 50% discount from the Elan Charm Merchant in Elan. Restock time in Elan is very long so if they are gone you will just need to get them from HQ Charm Vendor. Also in the HQ Charm Vendor are the 40% Burst Potions and you will want a stack of these for EXPing!

One last stop before getting to the EXPing. While you started with 1 stack of each of the potions you will definitely need more HP than 1 stack. Head to the Potion Alchemist and purchase some HP Potions of the appropriate level. Load your potions into your pots macros and you are ready to go. Go to your

War Portal Master and purchase the teleport scroll for your level. The level range for the scrolls is listed beside the name.

Shout in chat asking to join a Guild. HP potions from the Potions vendor can get expensive so getting into a guild room to buy HP potions is a PLUS! Also available are some special potions and samples of some of the potions from the GP shop which can help you leveling so join a guild!

There are 3 races each with their own unique style and feel when playing the game, not to mention special classes. Below is a general Overview of each race.

Accretians - The Accretian Empire

Accretians are basically your every-game Powerhouse, merging metal and man in the highest form. The background story (Found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RF_Online#Accretia ) Basically states that their robotic creation of this master race, called Herodians. The basic makeup of the accretion race is as follows:

- Race Special is the Launcher (rocket launcher/flamethrowers), a weapon that can be utilized by all classes, but special Skills limited to "Striker" Class.

- Highest Base Defense of all three races.

- Potential Highest "Spike Damage" of all three races, through the use of Optimized "Siege Kits" used by Strikers.

- Highest HP "Tanks" or, defense class, of all three races, including a boost to their HP Pot regeneration.

Bellato - The Bellato Nation

Bellato are the base inhabitants of "Novus" the groundwork for RF Online. They include the "Holy" casting tree, including Buffs to Dodge, Defense, Speed, and the Healing skill unlock able by their caster class. Their background story (Found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RF_Online#Bellato ) States they were master technicians and Engineers who turned their architectural skills to wartime creation in the face of the Accretian and Cora onslaught. Their basic makeup is as follows:

- Race Special is the MAU, or Massive Armored Unit (ever seen armored core), a type of large robot coming in two forms, Melee and Range.

(3)

- Healing and Buffing Support given by their Caster class gives them unparalleled party skills and strength in numbers.

- Their Holy-Only buff, Agility, gives them a 30 Boost to dodge. Equipped correctly, this gives them the highest potential dodge in game.

- One of the most skill-based races, difficult to rely on regular attack damage, but quick cool down skills make them formidable.

Cora - The Holy Alliance

Cora’s are the Crusaders of space, created by "Decem" to purge the world of wrongdoers and annihilate those not loyal to Decem. Their back-story (Found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RF_Online#Cora ) states that they're fighting to gain the Resources of Novus to further Decem's plan for them to be the master race, replacing the Herodians which created all the races. Their general race makeup is as follows:

- Race Special is Summons, Powerful and varying forces restricted to their Summoner / Grazier Class and summons are available to Specialists. Summoners have four Summons (Pets):

1. Dagnu -a melee tank

2. Epochia - ranged dps (Damage per Second) good for stuns 3. Incindius - healer

4. Morrigan - pure damage

- Highest potential buffed defense tank due to the skill "Barricade" which doubles the Players Defense. - Have the restricted Force Spell Tree "Dark", which gives the Rush skill, which decreases cool down time on spells, and the unique de-buff, Hell Bless, which decreases the targets HP/SP, causing them to use potions more.

- Rumored to have the highest, non-skill damage of all three races and their Melee class buffs and Accessories support this idea.

Now that you have a general Idea of what each race has to offer, it's time to pick. Regardless of which race you pick, you'll have a few choices for base class. These are, for all races; Warrior, Ranger, and Specialist. Limited to Cora and Bellato only is a fourth class called, the Spiritualist (mage). Which class you pick depends on what class skills are available to you at level 30, and again at level 40, as well as your style of play and how you intend to enjoy the game.
