Scope of work

Trade contractor of this project will be responsible for the execution of the work in

accordance with the specifications and relevant approved documentations. The

scope of work includes supply and installation of proposed gypsum board

suspended ceiling system including proprietary KIRII SD-19 (Standard) System

with W-Bar, C-38 Channel, Hanger, W-Clip, Z-Bracket and Bolt and moisture

resistant board (MR - GypBoard

TM

) at the L33 to L37 tower suite bathroom areas.

Relevant submission

• Material Submission of the KIRII SD-19 (Standard) System including

samples and catalogue.

• Material

Installation of suspended ceiling system

• Preparation work

1. Site Cleaning

2. Site surveying and setting out

3. Erect working platform if necessary and according site safety

regulations.

• Concerns

1. Checking Ceiling Level

Before installation work starts, check and ensure at least 4-in.

minimum clearance for installing ceiling panels.

2. Working at Height

Working platform will be provided if higher than 2m and erected by

experience competent worker and inspected by the appointed

professional person signing and certifying Form 4 & 5 before use and

re-inspection within 14 days.

3. Obstruction

When hanging the main tees, if the hanger wire holes are not

accessible, due to duct work, lighting, or other site works, using the

convenience holes for the hanger wire.

z Ceiling Installation

1. Mark the ceiling height on the surrounding walls according to the

reference line given by the Main Contractor.

2. Mark carrying channel (C-38 channel) by stretch a string across the

room at ceiling height.

3. Installation of the 8mm diameter threaded suspension, fixed by using

Z-Bracket to the ceiling slab. Spacing of suspension both must be at

1200m max. in either direction and at perimeter of ceiling as required.

4. The C-38 channel must be placed at 1200mm Max. shall be hung to

the lower part of the suspension bolts by means of galvanized steel

hangers and nuts.

5. The W-Bar at a spacing of 400mm Max. shall be fixed to the C-38

channel with W-Clips at each intersection. W-Clips must as a rule

alternate with the sides of the carrying channel.

6. Rigid and aligned system for the fixing of ceiling board must be

provided with separated pieces of C-38 channel and W-Bar to be

jointed by channel joint and double joint respectively.

7. Extra hangers to be provided where opening are required for light

fittings and access panels.

8. All components must be well fixed and the suspension system must

be correctly aligned and accurately leveled before attaching the

ceiling board.

9. The gypsum board shall be fixed by screws at 300m Max. to the

W-Bar with long edges of the gypsum board placed parallel to the

W-Bar.

10. Finish of all joints and screw heads with joint tape and joint compound

must be in accordance with manufacturer's instruction which shall be

approved by the Architect’s consultant.

11. Primer and Painting works can be proceeded after completion of

gypsum board installation.

12. Details of Step 10 and 11, please refer to the Method Statement for

Painting.

z Cornice Installation

1. Before commence the installation, ensure the wall and ceiling surface

is sound and free from any material i.e. wallpaper, loose or flaking

paint or plaster within the operation area.

3. Measure the cornice length required and mark wall edge of moulding

before screw fixing. Leave enough moulding length beyond the wall

edge mark to allow for external mitre cuts.

4. As cutting the mitre in the corner angle, the mitres must be marked out

and cut for each individual corner.

5. After cutting the cornice to be proper size, screw casting to wall and

ceiling.

6. Fill, joints and screw holes first Herculite Fibrefix. Once the Fibrefix

has set finish off the joints and screw holes with plaster, allow to dry

and sand smooth.
