Signage and Standards Intern

Role Summary:

The Systems & Signage Standards Intern assists with coordinating and maintaining the existing interior and exterior way finding systems consistent with the health system’s branding architecture, maintains compliance and records for the health system. The intern will work closely with the department manager and attend meetings to see how the work roles out into the system. Responsibilities include assisting with developing and installing campus maps and sign inserts, understanding the way finding methodology and logically extending the initial system to keep it current. This is an unpaid internship position.

Volunteer Services-Project Coordinator Intern

Role Summary: The Internship program provides individuals, typically current students, an opportunity to utilize the education, knowledge and experiences acquired during their undergraduate or graduate education in a healthcare setting. The fundamental purpose of an internship is to provide the student with practical experiences and an opportunity to enhance skills through active participations and involvement, direct exposure and engagement in a variety of functions. The student will work closely with department leadership and other staff members to prepare for a career in healthcare or volunteer management. The Volunteer Services Intern will support the goals of the Mission Health Systems Internships

Mission Volunteer Program. Priority will be given to the Junior Volunteer Program whose goals are to offer teens an introduction to careers, to prepare teens for the professional workplace and to develop a life-long commitment to service and volunteerism.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

Required Education: Currently and successfully working toward an Associate’s Degree in Human Resources, Human Services, Education, Healthcare Administration or a related field.

Preferred Education: Currently and successfully working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Human Services, Education, Healthcare Administration or a related field. Preference is given to students of University of North Carolina Asheville, Mars Hill College or Warren Wilson College.

Preferred License: None

Preferred Experience: At least one year experience as a participant in structured volunteer program. Preferred Skills: None

Integrative Healthcare-Pet Therapy Program

Role Summary:

• No more than 10 hours per week • Unpaid internship

• Conduct Patient Satisfaction Surveys for the pet therapy program • Assist in developing a formalized staff therapy program

Program Assistant – Parking and Shuttle Services

Role Summary:

The Parking and Shuttle Services Assistant will provide a broad range of administrative and program support to the Manager of Parking and Shuttle Services. Duties will include:

1. Conducting research to determine best, and/or common place practices for parking and shuttle operations at hospital or healthcare facilities.

2. Coordinate marketing, outreach, and implementation for alternative transportation programs. The position entails planning and coordinating communications, including promotions, to inform employees and patients/visitors about parking, shuttle, or other transportation programs at Mission Hospital.] 3. Coordinate date entry for both the valet and shuttle parking programs; interpret data and make

recommendations for program improvements.

4. Provide clerical support for the program, including timely distribution of information and materials, regularly updating programs databases and website, and monitoring program supply inventories.

6. Assist Manager of Parking and Shuttle Services with administrative duties and performs other related duties as required.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

Must have strong computer skills including some knowledge of database management, word processing, and spreadsheet development. Must possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Must be able to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks. Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills required. Knowledge of commuter transportation and/or parking industry is highly desirable. Required Education: None

Role Summary:

Help with creating profiles of all Physician Practices and Regional Hospital for analysis of optimizing business structure for Rural Health/Critical Access Hospital designation.

Multimedia Internship

Role Summary:

Mission Health’s Multimedia Intern is assigned to the Marketing & Communications Department at Mission Health. As a valued member of the corporate marketing team, the Multimedia Intern will work with the Digital & Social Marketing Manager to assist in engaging the organization’s stakeholders (patients and their families, caregivers and community) through digital mediums best reflecting the services of Mission Health.

This internship will assist in making all digital forms of media transactional and trackable, and find ways to leverage digital assets as a valuable educational service.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

Social Media and CMS experience required, Creative writing skills, Excellent Communication Ability, and Ad Words.

Required Education: High School Diploma with progression toward two, four-year, and/or graduate degree Preferred Education: Pursuit of a graduate or undergraduate degree in communications, new media, information

technology, graphic design, marketing or public relations strongly preferred. Preferred License: N/A

Preferred Experience: InDesign, Adobe Flash, HTML, Video Production experience are pluses.

Role Summary:

The Multimedia Communications Intern is a valued member of the Marketing & Communications team at Mission Health. Working in tandem with the Digital & Social Marketing Manager, this internship will curate content for the newly launched Mission Health blog, eNews and other digital channels.

Huff Center Therapies Intern

Role Summary:

The Huff Center Therapies Intern will work closely with pediatric physical, occupational and speech therapists at the Reuter Children's Outpatient Center. Responsibilities include assisting clinical staff with preparation of treatment areas and treatment materials, escorting families from registration area to treatment spaces and then to check-out area, assisting clinical staff with play-based activities during treatment procedures, organizing therapy materials and equipment, and other duties as directed by clinical staff.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

Ability to work collaboratively with a range of clinical staff, strong interpersonal skills, interest in pediatric therapy services
