Investigated the factors influencing Physician Assistant students to enter primary or non-primary care fields prior to beginning their clinical experience
Predictive factors for entering primary care included having a primary care role model; wanting to treat a wide variety of patients/illnesses and to treat the whole person; having more controllable or regular hours; emphasizing personal over technical skills; and a decreased emphasis on prestige
