ENGLISH COMMUNICATION

A key component of a successful career within the hospitality industry is the ability to communicate in more than one language, most importantly in English.

All courses at César Ritz Colleges are taught in English and students must have a high level of English to be able to start their academic studies.

Students’ English level is evaluated before they can apply to study at César Ritz Colleges, if the standard is not met then the English Foundation Programme, based at Le Bouveret Campus is an ideal way to strengthen English language skills before commencing hospitality studies.

The length of the course depends on each student’s personal English level and motivation, with the objective of achieving the required score to enter the desired hospitality course.

The English Foundation Programme runs throughout the year in four-week blocks. Students may enter the course at any point however they must complete a minimum of four and a maximum of twenty weeks.

The course offers students a minimum of 20 hours English tuition per week and covers the following subject areas :

› English for Academic Purposes › Structured Writing & Grammar

› Learning Strategies & Study Techniques › Reading & Text Analysis
