2.1 Communication via RS232

Note : To connect to equipment a bit far (1.5 meters away ) or multiple sets of equipment , please use the way of RS485 for communication .

3. Function Setup

3.1 Menu

Pressing the key MENU is followed by a display of “ Admin? ”. At this time, person cannot enter into the interface of menu until the manager has been identified with success , then it shows on the LCD: “ Data Proc ”, “ Setup ”, “ System Infor ” optional with ▲ and ▼.

User of Fingerprint Time & Attendance Recorder: The users include a manager and a general user. The general user can only identify his/her own identity;

The manager is authorized to register new fingerprints and passwords, browse the deleted or recorded data, browse the system information and set up functions.

Menu including : Data Proc + Setup + System Infor

Data Proc including : User Reg + Admin Reg + Sensitivity + Delete + View URec + View ARec + Delete All

3.2 Data Proc 3.2.1 User Reg

User Reg including : Finger + Card + Password + FP+Card + FP+PWD

User’s registering have five kinds of verifying methods , as above , we make an example with registering in Finger way , choose Finger item , coming into registering new finger , Yes-Ok , No-ESC , and ID number will be increase by degrees automatically from 00001 , and every new fingerprint has to press three time when registered , and every user can register three different fingerprints .

3.2.2 Admin Reg

Admin Reg including : Finger + Card + Password + FP+Card + FP+PWD

It has same register way as Users’ , every Admin can register three different fingerprints too , and the Terminal has the Max 10 admin .

3.2.3 Sensitivity

Sensitivity including : Comparison + Init. 1:1 + Global 1

Admin can adjust the level of sensitivity to change the rate of verify’s precision , for example , one user’s finger was broken in one day , so it’s difficult for him to pass the verify when the sensitivity numerical value is high , so admin can change his sensitivity down by Comparison , the scope for sensitivity numerical value is between 0—50 , if the Verify Type is 1:1 , admin can adjust sensitivity numerical value in Init. 1:1 , the scope for sensitivity numerical value is also between 0—50 , and when Verify Type is 1:1:N or 1:N , admin can adjust sensitivity numerical value in Global 1 , the scope for sensitivity numerical value is also between 1—4 .

3.2.4 Delete

Delete including : Delete ID 0000 + Delete ID 0000-0

Admin can delete user’s information and admin’s information by this function , including fingerprints , cards and passwords .

3.2.5 View URec

View URec including : URec ID 00000

Admin can check users’ records by this way , and check all records one by on through ▲ , ▼ or “ ok ” .

3.2.6 View ARec

View ARec including : ARec ID 00000

3.2.7 Delete All Rec

Delete All Rec including : Delete All Rec Delete ? + Delete All Rec Progressing

Admin can delete all records by this function , including user’s records and admin’s records .

3.3 Setup 3.3.1 System

System including : Admin Max 5 + Language ENG + Data Format YMD + Time + Voice Out Yes + LCD Contra 30 + Unlock 3 + Auto Off No + VerifyMode F/P/C + VerifyFunc 1:1:N + Default Setup

Admin can setup system here , Admin Max means the max of admin can be , and the max is 10 , and Languaga , Data Format , Time , Voice and LCD Contrast can be changed here , Unlock means how long time does it keep the Access Control door opened , from 1 – 255 minutes , Auto Off means it will be auto off the Terminal according to sets , from 1 to 255 minutes , usually it’s set as “NO” , for Verify Mode , it has five modes : Fingerprint , Card , Password , F+C or F+P , Verify Function has three kinds : 1:1 , 1:N or 1:1:N , usually , it’s 1:N or 1:1:N , if it’s under 1:1 , it must be enter into user’s ID before fingerprint or card or password ; here it can default Terminal by Default Setup . 3.3.2 Record

Record including : ARec Alert + URec Alert + Reverify

ARec Alert has scope from 0 to 255 , if we set it as “ 255 ” , when the Terminal can only store admin’s record less than 255 , it will be alert ; for URec Alert , it has scope from 0 to 1500 , if it’s set as “ 1500 ” , that means , when the Terminal can only store user’s record less than 1500 , it will be alert . Reverify can be set at scope of 0 to 255 , for example , if it’s set as “1’ , that means “ 1 minute ” , when user verify one time in 1 minute , it will be OK , but if this user verify two times or more in 1 minute , the Terminal will be tell you “ Reverify ” .

3.3.3 Communication

Communication including : Device No + Baudrate + Parity + Port No + Com PWD + IP Address + Subnet Mask + Default Gateway + RS485 COM

It’s set for communicating Terminal with PC and software . if Terminal was connected with PC by TCP/IP , it must be keep Device No , Port No , Com PWD and IP Address on software same as Terminal’s when connected . if Terminal was connected with PC by RS485/RS232 , it must keep RS485 COM as “ YES ” , and Baudrate on Terminal must be same as PC’s .

User Reg shows how many users has been registered on Terminal , how many users does it have ?

4.1 “▲” – Clock In

When Terminal works under function keys for clocking In/Out , but not “ Shift ” within ZKS’s software , “▲” means clock in , press key of “▲” before clocking in , meanwhile it will be shows as status of “ in ” instead of “ auto ” in report .

4.2 “▼” – Clock Out

When Terminal works under function keys for clocking In/Out , but not “ Shift ” within ZKS’s software , “▼” means clock out , press key of “▼” before clocking out , meanwhile it will be shows as status of “ out ” instead of “ auto ” in report .

Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1: Are there any notes in the installation and using fingerprint terminal? Answer: It should note the matters of the following three sides in the using of fingerprint terminal:

1) Initialize the fingerprint terminal before using, to prevent the existence of lawless fingerprint and lawless password.

2) The installation of fingerprint terminal affects its future using directly, so please the professional personnel to install when installing and take the operation according to the requirements of ZKS strictly, and cannot change the installation requirements and parameters optionally.

3) Pay attention to the maintenance of Fingerprint terminal during the daily process, to ensure that it is running in the good environment.

Question 2: Could it still verify when the Fingerprint Window is dirty?

Answer: It can work when the Fingerprint Window is dirty, but you must pay attention to the maintenance of finger terminal and especially the fingerprint window at any time. General speaking, please wipe the fingerprint window with the soft cloth, but note not to use the organic solvent of viscous liquid, alcohol or oil etc.

Answer: Fingerprint terminal adopts the most advanced fingerprint module, this fingerprint module is processed with toughened & thick glass material, of which wearable degree is strong and normal operation life can reach up to five years.

Question 4: Fingerprint could be copied? The copied fingerprint could be used to verify? Answer: Fingerprint picture can be copied, but the copied fingerprint picture cannot be identified on the living fingerprint sensor, this is because the Fingerprint terminal adopts the most advanced living fingerprint identification technology and finger sensor can verify well only for living object fingerprint.

Question 5: Whether someone's fingerprint is the same as yours and can verify my terminal?

Answer: No fingerprint is the same as yours, because the fingerprint is varied as different people, even that the fingerprints of ten fingers of a person are not the same.

Question 6: What can I do if my registered finger is scratched? Can I verify freely? Answer: If your finger is just scratched a little, it won't affect the opening function of fingerprint, because it adopts the automatic restoring function in ZKS Fingerprint terminal, fingerprint sensor can restore the rupture of fingerprint according to the trend of fingerprint, so as not to affect the normal verifying of fingerprint. But the restoring function of fingerprint cannot realize the complete restoring when the finger is scratched seriously, so we suggest that you register one or two backup fingerprints, if your registered fingerprint is injured, you can use the backup fingerprint to verify; if your fingers are all injured, you can input the password or card.

Question 7: Most of others' fingerprint terminal adopt capacitance fingerprint sensor, but ZKS fingerprint terminal adopts optics fingerprint sensor, which is better?

Answer: In current, the technology used for collecting fingerprint image is optics technology and capacitance technology. Capacitance technology obtains the complete fingerprint by the measurement of chip, the price of the chip is expensive, the collection range is small, but fingerprint collection is not reliable, which causes the difficulty to the using of users, in addition, it is easy to be interfered, whether static interference, salinity of sweat or other swag and the abrasion of finger can make collection head be difficult to read fingerprint. But for optics, it collects fingerprint by the reflection of light, optics fingerprint collection head provides more reliable solution and improves the primary optics image-capturing technology, the new optics fingerprint sensor adopts the imaging technology with 500 DPI, which is suitable to peoples aged 6 to 80; adopt the newest light road imaging system and increase the exoteric anti-interference ability; the surface of fingerprint sensor uses nanometer plating film to deal with and make the fingerprint sensor more wearable, it make the capacitance sensor be outshone as the unquestionable character and favorable price.
