Always Having

2 Corinthians 9:8 NKJV

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

That’s God will for you, to always have. And God is able. He is able to make it happen and abound towards you.

2 Corinthians 9:8 AMPC

And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in

abundance for every good work and charitable donation].

God’s will concerning financial prosperity and abundance is clearly revealed in the

Scriptures. From the beginning of time, He has provided financial prosperity for His people through obedience to His Word. We didn’t come up with that idea, it was God’s idea to prosper us. You must keep on believing in the midst of unbelievable circumstances that it’s God’s perfect will for you to prosper financially. You must challenge the traditions you’ve been taught about prosperity, because God delights in your financial well-being. Maybe you were taught that God doesn’t want you to have much because it will take your heart away from Him. I don’t have to avoid being prosperous, I have to avoid being a fool.

Psalm 35:27 NKJV

Let them shout for joy and be glad, Who favor my righteous cause; And let them say continually, “Let the Lord be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”

Say…”Lord, be magnified, for You have pleasure in my prosperity”. Now say that

continually. Now prosperity doesn’t just mean money. Prosperity means total well-being. In fact, money is the lowest form of power. Do you know what is the highest form of power?

Prayer.

(2)

There are a lot of poor people with money. But we don’t shoot down money, prosperity, and the well-being of others. We just have to keep a proper relationship with the material world. You can serve God with your money but you can’t serve God and money. Satan has had us in a poverty mentality so long that it's tough for us to grasp just how intensely God really does desire to prosper us—even though He's demonstrated that desire again and again.

3 John 1:2-4 NKJV

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

That’s God’s will for you, to prosper spirit, soul and body. God is interested in our total well- being. But how does God prosper our spirit, soul and body? Look at the next verse.

3 For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. 4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

Truth = The Word (according to John 17:17). God prospers us through the Word. Your

prosperity comes from the Word not from the world. Even if your current financial situation is dismal or you so far behind it looks like you'll never catch up, God can take you from not having to always having...and keep you there for the rest of your life. Say this…”Thank you God for taking me from not having to always having and keeping me there for the rest of my life, in Jesus name.” Today and throughout this series, we going to see God breaking stubborn strongholds in your life. Stubborn strongholds of lack and debt.

Isaiah 10:27 NKJV

It shall come to pass in that day that his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.

Jesus is here. The anointing is here. The burden removing, yoke destroying power of God is here to deliver you from that stubborn stronghold and to set you free. Now it’s important for you not to see giving as loss, but to see giving as gain, as multiplication, as increase.

Mark 10:17-22 NKJV

Now as He was going out on the road, one came running, knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?” 18 So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God.19 You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’ ” 20 And he

answered and said to Him, “Teacher, all these things I have kept from my youth.”

(3)

21 Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven;

and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.” 22 But he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

The rich young ruler was rich and had great possessions but when Jesus asked him to give it away, he couldn’t part with his goods. He walked away sorrowful. He got sad when he heard about giving. Sorrow is associated with loss and he thought he was losing when Jesus asked him to give. Do you see giving as loss? Are you finding it difficult to part with your riches and goods when it comes to giving? Jesus wanted this man to receive even more, the hundredfold, but he couldn’t see it. He was blinded by greed, selfishness and he missed out on something better that Jesus had prepared for him. How is your heart today? Do you get sad when you hear the word on giving. Do you get sad and walk away when Jesus asks you to give or are you glad to do it quickly and willingly. Today, renew your mind and allow the Holy Spirit to illuminate your thinking, not to see giving as loss but to see giving as gain, as multiplication, as increase. Make a decision to re-dedicate all your riches and goods to Jesus and allow Him to direct your giving. He will always bring you into something more and

something better. We have been redeemed from the curse of poverty to the blessing of prosperity.

Galatians 3:13-14 NKJV

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Galatians 3:29 NKJV

And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

We have been redeemed from the curse of poverty to the blessing of prosperity. The curse was threefold in nature. The curse of poverty, the curse of sickness and disease and the curse of spiritual death. The blessing is also threefold in nature. We read it in 3 John 1:2, a material blessing, healing and health blessing and soul (spiritual blessing).

We Are The Seed Of Abraham

We just read that if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed and Abraham is our father of faith. So, let’s see how Abraham was a tither and how he tithed his tithe 430 years before the law. People say, “I’m not under the law. so, I don’t have to tithe”.

(4)

You right, you don’t have to, we get to. And you won’t be cursed if you don’t tithe because Jesus redeemed us from the curse. But you are not very smart if you don’t tithe. You are only hurting your own financial prosperity when you don’t give. God set this principle in motion in the Bible so that we can prosper and increase.

Three Covenant Requirements for Walking in Financial Dominion 1. Tithing

a. “This is the covenant foundation, responsibility and obligation for financial fortune.”

b. “All financial testimonies in the Body of Christ are rooted in consistent tithing.”

Wave your hand if you’ve had financial testimonies because you tithed consistently.

c. “The truth is, any believer who is not a tither will remain a financial struggler.”

d. “This is because it is impossible to be in command of financial fortune without being a tither.”

2. Kingdom-Promotion Giving

a. “Our seed is not a financial donation to ‘help’ God, the church, the ministry or the minister.”

b. “Rather, it is a spiritual transaction that provokes the release of financial fortune in the ultimate, among others.”

3. Worship Offerings

a. “We are admonished in Scriptures not to go into God’s presence empty-handed.”

b. “This is because God takes cognizance of every offering we bring when we are in worship.”

4. The covenant has never failed and it will not fail in our lives.

5. As we “play our part by engaging the covenant so as to commit God’s integrity to perform in our lives...every financial stress will be terminated in Jesus’ Name.”

(5)

So Abraham never tithed because of a law but because He had a covenant with God. If he played his part, he knew God would be committed to play His part.

Genesis 14::14-23 NKJV

Now when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his three hundred and eighteen trained servants who were born in his own house, and went in pursuit as far as Dan. 15 He divided his forces against them by night, and he and his servants attacked them and pursued them as far as Hobah, which isnorth of Damascus. 16 So he brought back all the goods, and also brought back his brother Lot and his goods, as well as the women and the people. 17 And the king of Sodom went out to meet him at the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley), after his return from the defeat of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him. 18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. 19 And he blessed him and said: “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; 20 And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And he gave him a tithe of all.

21 Now the king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the persons, and take the goods for yourself.” 22 But Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I have raised my hand to the Lord, God Most High, the Possessor of heaven and earth, 23 that I will take nothing, from a thread to a sandal strap, and that I will not take anything that is yours, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich’—

So, we see that Abraham gave God a tenth of all, 430 years before the law. So, when it comes to living a prosperous life, tithing – giving the first 10 percent of your income to God – is the cornerstone of real biblical prosperity. God’s financial blessings are reserved for the tither alone.

Malachi 3:8 NKJV

Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me. But you say, in what way have we robbed You? In tithes and offerings.

You see, according to the Bible, the first 10 percent of our income does not belong to us. It belongs to God. He owns it. If we use it on ourselves, we’ve stolen it from Him. We don’t want to be God robbers. Your salary, any bonus you get, pension, any extra income, the first 10 percent belongs to God. It amazes me how many believers waste their energies arguing whether or not tithing is a New Testament doctrine. You hear people say, “Tithing is under the law and I am under grace now. That’s why I don’t tithe. Oh, I give offerings, but I don’t tithe”. People who think this way are self-deceived. Tithing didn't begin with the law.

The Law only explained the tithe, gave it procedure and demanded it.

(6)

9 You are cursed with a curse, for you have robbed Me, Even this whole nation.

Like I said, you are not cursed if you don’t tithe because Jesus took the curse upon Him, but you are not very wise if you don’t. God wants to bless you and increase you.

10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house,

“Bring it all…”. “Storehouse…” the place where you are being fed spiritually, it’s usually God’s house. Feed what’s feeding you. You don’t go to one restaurant, eat there and then pay next door by another restaurant. You pay there where you eat. Feed what’s feeding you. And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, The only place you are allowed to test and try God is with the tithe.

“If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.

1st Tithing right is provision.

The windows of heaven are opened and He will provide.

11 “And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,” Says the Lord of hosts;

2nd tithing right is protection.

He rebukes the devourer, the seed-eater for my sake. My vines are bearing fruit in the field.

12 “And all nations will call you blessed, For you will be a delightful land,” Says the Lord of hosts.

3rd tithing right is promotion.

All nations are calling me blessed and I have a delightful land.

Some Common Mistakes

If you are just getting started, let me help you avoid some of the mistakes I often see Christians make in this area of tithing. People divide their tithe and spread it all over the place. They will spend it on themselves. They will give it to outreaches. They will give to the poor and all kinds of different things. That is not a valid use for the tithe money. It is not to be spent on yourself or other things, no matter how good the purpose might seem.

(7)

God intends for you to put your tithe into a place that feeds you spiritually. Usually that will be your local church.

Another mistake

They neglect to separate that first 10 percent from the rest of their income. They say. “It all belongs to God and we will end up giving more than 10 percent anyway”. That’s wrong.

Your money isn’t all God’s. He gave 90 percent of it to you. It’s yours to enjoy and use for offerings. The first 10 percent, however, is God’s and He expects it to be divided out as such with respect and reverence to Him.

So, first things first. We must be faithful with the tithe. We tithe the first and the best. The blessing of increase is on the rest.

Jesus as our High Priest still receives our tithes today. He blesses it and blesses us just like Melchizedek, blessed Abraham.

1. God wants you to prosper and always have. But give Him an opening and commit your money and goods to Him.

2. Don’t see giving as loss. See giving as gain, multiplication and increase.

3. Like Abraham, honor God with a tithe of all and you will see the windows of heaven opened over your life and finances.
