Project Riffgat:

nkt cables is able to conduct economically and ecologically

valuable projects in a professional, transparent, and flexible manner

• Creation of a cable connection between wind farm and mainland

• Delivery of 48 km 155 kV submarine cables (cable type: 630mm², Cu)

• Capacity of 108 MW through 30 wind turbines

• Can provide 120,000 households with environmental-friendly power

• Removal of explosive substances from the Second World War

• First commercial wind farm in the German North Sea

Project Gemini:

nkt cables is a proud partner of Gemini, the largest wind farm

under construction

Offshore wind farm „Gemini“, NL North Sea

• Support of wind farm Gemini in the Dutch North Sea

• Delivery of 200 km 220 kV submarine cables (different cable types)

• Additionally 5 km 380 kV and 30 km 220 kV cable to connect wind farm

Project assignment

• Capacity of 600 MW through 150 wind turbines

• Gemini will feed 2.6 billion kilowatt hours into the grid

• Already the 10th nkt cables offshore wind farm project since 2010

Results

• Production-related CO2 emission is amortized within three months

• Submarine cable production in one of the most modern cable plants worldwide

• Contributes to an ecological achievement of climate goals
