Full name is Robert Cremins, Jr. Born July 4, 1947 at Bronx, N.Y. Cremins and his wife, Carolyn, have three children: Liz, Suzie and Bobby III.

EDUCATION

After graduating from South Carolina in 1970 with a bachelor’s degree in mar -keting, Cremins played professionally in Ecuador for one season. He returned to earn a master’s degree in guidance and counseling from South Carolina in 1972.

PLAYING EXPERIENCE

Was a three-year starter at point guard at South Carolina under the legendary Frank McGuire. The Gamecocks posted an 81-17 record during his playing career.

AT COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON

Cremins is entering into his second season with College of Charleston. A veteran of 26 years as a head coach, Cremins retired as head coach at Georgia Tech following the 1999-00 season.

PREVIOUS COACHING EXPERIENCE

Spent one season at Point Park in Pittsburgh as an assistant coach. Returned to his alma mater as an assistant coach for two seasons. Had a successful stint as head coach at SoCon rival Appalachian State from 1975-81, as the Mountaineers posted a 100-70 (.588) record, won one Southern Conference title and earned an NCAA Tournament berth. In 19 years at Georgia Tech, his teams posted a 354-237 (.599) mark. The Yellow Jackets won three ACC titles, advanced to nine NCAA Tournaments and two NITs. His 1989-90 squad advanced to the Final Four while finishing with a 28-7 record.
