Local Produce

Wanneroo is historically the ‘food bowl’ of Perth and market gardening still remains important today. It is possible at different times of the year to sample fresh produce, or even pick your own straight from the growers. Olives, mangoes and strawberries are always a favourite. Fine wines are also produced in the area and are available to purchase.

Yanchep National Park

Provides a true Aussie experience just 45 minutes from Perth. There’s so much to learn about Aboriginal culture*, take part in a cave tour or see the flora and fauna, including kangaroos and koalas. You can walk along one of the park’s nine trails, enjoy a picnic or barbeque in the natural surrounds and perhaps stay overnight at the historic Yanchep Inn. If you’re peckish, sample some sweet delights at Chocolate Drops tea rooms or eat in one of the park’s dining facilities. *see page 9

Yellagonga Regional Park

Named in 1990 to honour Yellagonga, the leader of the local Mooro Nyungar people who inhabited the region at the time of European settlement. The huge 1400 hectare Yellagonga Regional Park runs from Hepburn Avenue in the south to Joondalup Drive in the north.

The park offers amazing biodiversity due to Lakes Joondalup & Goollelal, Beenyup & Walluburnup swamps and the mature woodland areas. Throughout the whole year this ‘Jewel of the North’ has something to offer everyone from bird watching, picnicking, numerous playgrounds, BBQ’s areas, cycling or jogging.

Crystal Cave at

Yanchep Park

See Perth’s only tourist cave and experience an underground wonderland full of natural cave decorations. Guided tours run all year round and provide information on the cave’s history, geology, and the ecosystem that lies within. Cabaret Cave can even be hired for private events, including corporate meetings and weddings.
