ARTICULATION AGREEMENT

SUFFOLK COUNTY and ALFRED STATE COLLEGE

COMMUNITY COLLEGE

PURPOSE OF AGREEMENT

This document establishes a transfer articulation agreement between Suffolk County Community

College and Alfred State College. Its purpose is to afford students the opportunity to preplan

their college degrees and to facilitate the transfer process from the Associate of Applied Science

(A.A.S.) degree program in Computer Art at Suffolk County Community College to the Bachelor

of Science (B.S.) degree program in Digital Media & Animation at Alfred State College.

GENERAL GUARANTEED SEAMLESS TRANSFER AND FIRST SEMESTER JUNIOR STANDING

Students who have graduated from Suffolk County Community College with the A.A.S. Degree

in Computer Art, have achieved a minimum 2.00 cumulative grade point average for all courses

taken, and have received department approval based on a review of their portfolio are guaranteed

acceptance into the B.S. degree program in Digital Media

&

Animation at Alfred State College.

Students who do not meet each of the stated requirements will be evaluated on a case-by-case

basis.

TRANSFERABILITY OF CREDITS

Alfred State College accepts course credits only, not course grades. However, in order for the

credits to transfer, a grade of

"c"

or better is required for the course. A detailed recapitulation of

credit transfer is provided on the following pages.

PROMOTION OF AGREEMENT

Both institutions have the right to use this agreement and the names of Suffolk County

Community College and Alfred State College in all promotional materials and activities such as

college catalogs, websites, and other advertisements.

EFFECTIVE DATES AND PROVISIONS FOR CHANGE, RENEWAL OR CANCELLATION

This agreement is in effect until cancelled by either party. Either college may independently

cancel this agreement by notifying the partner college of this intent, in writing, no less than six

months before the intended date of cancellation.

Programmatic changes that affect this agreement shall be communicated immediately in writing

to the other party. Changes to the agreement may then be required.
