4. FIRST AID MEASURES General Advice

Call a Poison Center, doctor or physician if you feel unwell. Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.

Move out of dangerous area.

If Inhaled

Remove to fresh air and keep at rest in a comfortable position. Call a Poison Center if you feel unwell.

In Case of skin contact

After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of soap and water. If rash or irritation occurs get medical attention.

In Case of eye contact

Rinse with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if safe and easy to do, then continue rinsing. If irritation persists get medical attention.

If Swallowed

Rinse mouth immediately. Call a Poison Center, doctor or physician immediately.

5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES Conditions of flammability

Established this product may contain materials that are classified as Combustible III-B.

Suitable extinguishing media

Extinguishing agent suitable for surrounding fire. Water spray or mist, dry chemical, foam, halox, alcohol-resistant foam, dry sand, limestone powder or carbon dioxide.

Special protective equipment for fire fighters

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus for firefighting if necessary.

Hazardous combustion products

Hazardous decomposition products formed under fire conditions. Primary component may release toxic and/or irritating components. Other components may release carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, phenolics and various polymer compounds. Ammonia gas may be liberated at high temperatures. Potential dust explosion hazard.

Combustible solid that burns. Eliminate all fire/ignition sources including static discharges. Organic powders when

finely divided over a range of concentrations regardless of particulate size or shape and suspended in air or some

other oxidizing media, may form explosive dust-air mixtures and a result in a fire or dust explosion (including

secondary explosions).

(4)

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Personal precautions

Avoid breathing dust/fume/gas/mist/vapours/spray. Ensure adequate ventilation. Evacuate personnel to safe areas.

Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Avoid dust formation. See Section 8 for personal protective equipment.

Environmental precautions

Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Avoid release into the environment.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up

Contain spillage, and then collect in suitable container for disposal according to local regulations (see sections 7, 8 and 13).

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE Precautions for safe handling

Do not handle until safety precautions have been read and understood. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms. Wash hands with soap and water after handling.

Contaminated work clothing should not be allowed out of the workplace. Avoid dust formation.

Conditions for safe storage

Store in accordance with local regulations. Keep in original container, tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place, and keep away from sunlight. Keep away from incompatible materials.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION Personal protective equipment

Respiratory protection

Where risk assessment shows air-purifying respirators are appropriate, use a full-face respirator with multi- purpose combination (US) or type ABEK (EN 14387) respirator cartridges as a backup to engineering controls. Use respirators and components tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or CEN (EU).

Hand protection

Handle with gloves. Gloves must be inspected prior to use. Use proper glove removal technique (without touching glove's outer surface) to avoid skin contact with this product. Dispose of contaminated gloves after use in accordance with applicable laws and good laboratory practices. Wash and dry hands.

Eye protection

Use equipment for eye protection tested and approved under appropriate government standards such as NIOSH (US) or EN 166 (EU).

Skin and body protection

Avoid contact with skin. The type of protective equipment must be selected according to the concentration and amount of the dangerous substance at the specific workplace.

Hygiene measures

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Wash hands before breaks and at the

end of workday. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

Stable under normal conditions.

(6)

Chemical stability

Stable under normal storage conditions. Preferred storage at or below 0

0

C.

Possibility of hazardous reactions

Extreme heat can produce hazardous materials. Reacts with considerable heat release with some curing agents.

Contact with aliphatic amines can cause polymerization.

Emergency procedures: Cool an exotherming mass include immersing the mass in water which cools it and reduces the volume of fumes produced or spreading the mass over a large surface area to allow for cooling.

Conditions to avoid

Avoid temperatures above 160

0

F. Avoid strong oxidizers, extreme temperatures and direct sunlight. Avoid creation of dust when handling, and sources of ignition. Prevent dust accumulation. Reactions with peroxides may result in violent decomposition of peroxide possibly creating an explosion.

Materials to avoid

Avoid oxidizing materials, acids, bases, strong alkalis and amines.

Hazardous decomposition products

Hazardous decomposition products formed under fire conditions. Component may release nitroc acid, ammonia, nitrogen oxides, toxic cyanates, amide, cyanic acids, isocyanates, carbamates, cyanogen, phenolics, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, water and various polymer compounds. Polymerizes exothermically with amines, mercaptans and Lewis acids at ambient temperature and above.
