GPS  tracking  system  is  meant  for  automatically  determining  the  geographic  location  of  an   object  and  transmitting  the  information  to  a  requester.

Most  commonly,  the  location  is  determined  using  GPS,  and  the  transmission  mechanism  is   SMS/  GPRS.

Automatic  object  locating  is  a  powerful  concept  and  can  be  used  for  following  purposes:

1. Workforce  Tracking:  Field  Service  Technicians,  Couriers   2. Vehicle  Tracking:  Delivery  Trucks,  Shuttle  Buses,  Rental  Cars

3. Asset  Tracking:  Shipping  Containers,  Construction  Equipment,  Heavy  Plant   4. Personal  Safety:  Alzheimer  Patients,  Children,  Bail  Bond  Agents,  Security  Guards   Knowing  the  real-‐time  location  of  all  drivers  allows  management  to  meet  customer  needs   more  efficiently.  Vehicle  location  information  can  also  be  used  to  verify  that  legal

requirements  are  being  met:  for  example,  those  drivers  are  taking  rest  breaks  and  obeying   speed  limits.

There  is  variety  of  hardware  available  for  AVL  Tracking,  which  ranges  from  simple  position   tracking  to  Alarm  and  cut  off  engine,  over  speed  alarm,  Electric  Fence,  Shake  alarm  etc.

GPS  Hardware

This  GPS  tracker’s  features  include  both  GPS  and  GSM  cellular  technology;  the  GPS  tracks     the  unit’s  location  via  satellite,  while  the  GSM  sends  out  the  location,  time,  date  and  more.

Other  features  include  a  car  kit,  waterproof  pouch,  magnetic  cover  and  a  built-‐in  mic.  The

• Quad  band  Siemens  GSM  Module

• High  GPS  and  GSM  sensitivity

• Programmable  dual  interval  GPS  auto  report

• Polling  current  GPS  position  in  active  mode

• Configuration  via  the  Windows  USB  Programming  Utility  or  via  SMS

• Built-‐in  vibration  sensor  and  magnetic  reed  switch

• Built-‐in  microphone  enables  one-‐way  audio  surveillance

Providing  complete  GSM/GPRS  communications,  it  helps  you  track  and  monitor  vehicles   from  the  family  car  to  the  largest  fleet  of  commercial  vehicles.

With  superior  GPS  sensitivity,  a  programmable  rules  engine,  polygon  Geo-‐Fencing,

integrated  SMS  commands,  messaging  and  much  more,  the  units  are  designed  to  be  easily   deployed  and  provisioned,  supplying  critical  information  for  the  most  demanding  fleet   operator.

Flash  memory  for  'store  and  forward'  data  logging  which  allows  the  tracker  to  continue  to   collect  GPS  reports  even  when  out  of  wireless  GSM  signal  coverage.  The  stored  GPS  reports   are  automatically  transmitted  when  the  GSM  signal  is  restored.

Our  GPS  platform  is  web  based  and  offered  as  Software  as  a  Service  (SaaS).  It  can  be   accessed  from  anywhere  in  the  world  and  is  hosted  in  professional  data  centers.  The  GPS   solution  is  both  horizontally  and  vertically  scalable  which  means  there's  actually  no   limitation  to  the  number  of  tracked  assets.

How  is  GPS  tracking/telematic  data  sent  from  the  device  to  the  server?

Depending on the capabilities of the device, data can be transmitted to the server in one of several ways. The following describes some of the methods used by devices to transmit data to the server:

Cellphone  Network

The most common method of transmitting data to the server. The GPS tracking device contains a Cellphone modem which typically uses a SIM card provided by a Wireless Data Provider (ie. Airtel, Vodafone etc).

The modem uses this wireless data-plan to establish a connection to Internet, and then a socket connection with the server.

Once connected to the server, it typically sends its location information, then disconnects.

Data can be transmitted using UDP or TCP.

Each has their advantages and disadvantages, however UDP is generally preferred due to its much greater data bandwidth efficiency.

In some cases, data may be sent to the server using SMS through the use of an SMS- Gateway.

The following graphic displays how GPS data may be transmitted to the server over a GPRS/Mobile network:

Satellite  Communications

The  GPS  tracking  device  contains  a  satellite  modem  which  connects  to  one  of  the  major   satellite  communication  data  providers  (ie.  Iridium,  OrbComm,  Globalstar,  etc.).

data  communications  tend  to  be  much  more  expensive,  and  have  much  greater  data   limitations,  than  using  a  cellphone  network.

The  following  graphic  displays  how  GPS  data  may  be  transmitted  to  the  server  over  a   Satellite  Communication  network:

Web  Based  Management  Console

Below  screenshots  are  meant  to  demonstrate  the  Mapping,  Reporting  and  Administrative   capabilities  of  our  web  based  tracking  console.

As you can see, the functions are broken down into 3 main categories, Mapping, Reports  and Administration. Each of the tabs corresponds to the appropriately named category of functions.

Click on the link for Track  Vehicle  Locations  on  a  Map  as highlighted above and the following screen will be displayed.

NOTE: Your map may be different depending on the date range selected.

Here we have the basic map view, with map zoom  controls on the left.

On the right hand side, we have the date range controls allowing you to select the period of time for which you'd like to review activity for a particular vehicle/asset.

Currently displayed is the starting date or "From" calendar (yellow  arrow). The right and left arrows just above the calendar will change the month and then you can select the particular day of the month you want.

To select a different end date, click on the 3 triangles below the calendar (red  arrow) and the "To" calendar will roll up to replace the "From" calendar. Follow the same procedure here to select your end date and then click the Update button (green   arrow) to redraw the vehicle/asset history on the map for the selected date range.

Event  Detail  Report

All received events are reported in the Event  Detail  report. In this application, location is reported very 5 minutes and events that are reported are Start, Stop, and

InMotion.

In a more complex application, other Status indications might include Digital I/O

Delivery  Model  &Pricing

We  have  a  cloud  based  (SaaS)  delivery  model  which  reduces  the  initial  high  capital

investment  and  helps  to  reduce  the  time  to  have  the  application  up  and  running  and  hence   realize  the  business  value  quickly.

SaaS  models  allow  a  service  to  be  hosted,  delivered, and  managed  remotely  via  the  Web  and   offer  thesharing  of  application  processing  and  storage  resourcesthrough  a  subscription   service.

Option1

• 1  Time  Hardware  Cost  @  INR  4,800  per  unit.

• Web  interface  for  management,  monitoring,  reporting  and  tracking  @  INR  1200  per   annum  per  unit.

Option2

• INR  3600  per  annum  per  unit  inclusive  of  hardware  and  Web  interface  for   management,  monitoring,  reporting  and  tracking.
