POEMS Mobile iPhone Application – User Guide

Getting Started

1. Connect your iPhone to the internet using 3G/4G or WIFI. For details on connection

setup, please check with your respective service provider.

2. Go to App Store or iTunes. Search for POEMS SG to download the application.

3. Login using your account number and POEMS Password.

Search Stocks/ Check Prices

1. At the Main Menu and all other screens, tap on the Stock Details and/or Search

icon on the top right hand corner.

2. Select the market to search (default option is Singapore).

3. Enter the Stock name/symbol to search. Tap the name of your preferred stock.

Trade

1. At the Main Menu or from the shortcuts at the bottom of the screen, select Trade.

2. Select the market (default option is ALL)

3. Enter the Stock name/symbol of your preferred counter and select accordingly.

4. Trade submission screen will appear:

a. Use the existing order submission form to submit the order OR

b. Amend the order submission form (ie. Quantity, Price, Payment and

Settlement Currency)

 Option one: Tap on the price and/or quantity boxes and key in the figures

 Option two: Use the +/- icons to in adjust the price and/or quantity

[Note: Quantity has also been pre-set in multiples of the lot size for your convenience.]

6. Trade confirmation screen will appear.

7. Check that the order details are correct and key in the password to confirm. Tap on the

Go button to proceed.

8. A pop-up will appear to inform you that the order has been submitted.

9. You will be directed to the Order Status screen

Advanced Charting

Tap on the mini chart on the Counter Details screen to bring up full-screen advanced charting in landscape and portrait mode

Navigating the Charts

1. Pinch to zoom –in and out of the chart

2. Select the chart range from the bottom panel. Chart cycles are available in 1D, 7D, 1M,

3M, 6M, YTD, 3Y, 5Y

Chart Settings

1. Access more charting options by tapping on the Settings icon located at the bottom right hand corner of the screen.

2. The chart options allow section for the following:

i. Chart type: select from either (i) Line (ii) Candlestick or (iii) Bar chart by tapping on the representing icons

ii. Indicators: select (i) Simple Moving Average, (ii) Exponential Moving Average, (iii) Bollinger Bands and (iv) Relative Strength Index by turning the respective “switch” on.

iii. Tap on “Done” (located at the top left hand corner of the screen) to return back

Stock Analytics

Order Status

1. Select Order Status from the Main Menu or the shortcuts at the bottom of the screen. 2. You can view Today’s Orders or Past Orders (Up to 7 days) by tapping on the

respective tab or swiping left or right.

3. You will come to the order summary screen.

 Tap on the Stock’s name (on the left) to retrieve the stock details and/or to trade or

add to Watchlist

 Tap on the Stock’s name (on the right) to view the full Order details 

a. Go to Today’s Orders.

b. Tap on the specific stock’s order summary (on the right) to view the full order details c. Details of the selected order will be displayed. Tap on Amend.

d. Enter a new quantity lower than the current quantity and tap on Submit and key in password.

e. Order will be submitted pending for amendment. Please check Order Status to confirm. 5. Withdraw Order

a. Go to Today’s Orders.

b. Tap on the specific stock’s order summary (on the right) to view the full Order details

c. Details of the selected order will be displayed. Tap on Withdraw and key in password. d. Tap on the OK button to confirm.

e. Order will be submitted pending for amendment. Please check Order Status to confirm. 6. Trade

a. Go to Today’s Orders or Past Orders.

b. You will come to the Order summary page.

 Tap on the Stock’s name (on the left) to retrieve the stock details to trade

WatchList

There are 5 watchlists in total and each watchlist can store up to 50 counters. Your watchlists are

synched with POEMS 2.0.

1. At the Main Menu or from the shortcuts at the bottom of the screen, select Watchlist 2. By default, the watchlist will be blank. Select any watchlist by scrolling to the left or to the

right

3. Add Stocks:

a. Select a watch list by swiping to the left or to the right b. Tap on the + button on the top left hand corner c. Select the market to search (default option is ALL) d. Type in the stock name/symbol in the search box e. Tap on the name of the stock to add

f. A pop-up will appear to inform you that the stock has been added 4. Delete Stocks

a. Select a watch list by swiping to the left or to the right b. Tap on the Edit button on the top right hand corner

c. Tap on the Delete icon on the left of the stock that you want to remove d. Tap on the Delete icon to confirm

e. A pop-up will appear to inform you that the stock has been removed.

5. Rename Watch List

c. Tap on the existing name and type in the new watch list name over the existing name d. Tap on the Done icon to confirm

6. Watch List Sorting

a. Select a watch list to rename by swiping to the left or to the right b. Tap on the Edit button on the top right hand corner

c. Tap on the Sorting icon on the right of the stock and move up and down on the counter that you want to sort.

Top 30

1. At the Main Menu or from the shortcuts at the bottom of the screen, select Top 30 2. You can view the Top 30 Volume, Gainers, Losers and Market Indices

3. Select the market (default option is ALL) to proceed

4. To view the stock symbol as its stock name, tap on the header ‘Stock Name’ on the left and the Stock Symbol will appear

5. Edit Headers

 Tap on the Header on the right and select the fields (i.e Last Done, Change etc) to customise the view

Outstanding Position

1. Select O/S Position from the Main Menu

2. A disclaimer pop-up will appear. Tap on ‘Close’ after reading the disclaimer to view the

O/S Position summary screen.

3. You can view all your outstanding contracts / contra payment due dates for Singapore and foreign markets.

Scrap Book

1. Select Scrap Book from the Main Menu.

2. The disclaimer pop-up will appear. Tap on ‘Agree’ to proceed.

3. You can view the Unrealized P/L and Realized P/L for the trades through POEMS.

4. Unrealized P/L

a. Edit Headers

 Tap on the Header on the right and select the fields (i.e +/-, +/-%, Mkt Value, Last Done Price, Ave Price, Mode etc) to customise the view

 A roller will appear for you to select the fields. Tap Done to confirm selection

News

1. Select News from the Main Menu

2. You can view the market indices and headlines of these categories: Headlines,

Equities, Economic News, Analyst Ratings, Dividends News, Hot Stocks and General News

3. Expand and/or Collapse these categories, or scroll up and down to read the headlines 4. Read the full news

 Tap the category (i.e Headlines, Equities etc)  Tap on the headlines to read the full news 5. You will come to the full news page

6. Tap News to return to the categories and headlines

Alerts

New! Price Alerts is currently available for the SGX market

1. Select Alerts from the Main Menu

2. The Alerts module comprise of Price Alert and Announcement tabs. The Price Alert tab showcases (i) All alerts, (ii) Triggered alerts and (iii) Untriggered alerts

Choosing a Counter to Set an Alert

1. To set an alert, tap on the

+

icon located at the top left hand corner of the screen 2. Select the market to search (default option is SGX)

3. Type in the stock name/symbol in the search box

Set Alert Screen

1. On the Set Alert screen, you may customize your alert settings for your selected counter based on:

Low Target: you will be alerted when the Last Done price drops to or below

your set price

High Target: you will be alerted when the Last Done price rises equal or

beyond the set price

Change% Down Target: you will be alerted when daily change% drops to or

below the set price

Change% Up Target: you will be alerted when daily change% rises to or

above the set price

Volume (K) Target: you will be alerted when the total Volume (K) reaches the

set Volume (K).

2. Select either of the afore-mentioned options by tapping on the respective “Switch” icon 3. Tap on “Save” to turn on the alert.

Edit, Delete an Alert

1. To edit/delete or selected alert, tap on the alert. A contextual menu will appear with the following options:

Trade: Go to the Trade screen of this counter

Edit Alert: Returns you back to the Set Alert screen

Delete Alert: Delete this alert only

Counter Details: View counter information for this stock

2. To delete multiple alerts, tap on “Edit” located at the top right hand corner of the Alerts screen. Checkboxes will appear as a column on the left hand side of the same screen.

3. Select the alerts to be deleted by checking the boxes next to these alerts.

4. After selection, tap on “Delete” located at the top left hand corner of the Alerts screen
