Server/Client Access License (CAL)
• Lync Server 2013 is licensed in one edition for all deployment scenarios.
• Server Licenses: A license must be assigned for each Lync Front End Server *— all other roles do not require a license. All other server roles can be deployed, in as many instances, physical or virtual, as your architecture requires:
Lync server 2013 – on premises litsentsimudel
Iga litsents tulebmäärata ühele serverile. Iga litsentsi puhul võite kasutada litsentsitud serveris ühte serveritarkvara töötavat eksemplarifüüsilises või virtuaalses OSE-s. (Tootekasutusõigused, jaanuar 2014, lk 32 + vt ka lk 81)
Lync server 2013 – on premises litsentsimudel
• Allows you freely move both licenses and running instances within a server farm from one server to another. So long as you are not running instances within a server farm on both servers at one time, you can do this without having to assign licenses on both servers simultaneously.
Server/Client Access License (CAL)
• Client Access Licenses (CALs): To access the Lync Server 2013 services, a Client Access License is required. Three CALs are available for Lync Server:
– Lync Standard CAL (to use IM, presence, one-to-one audio, and video; Skype Connectivity) – Lync Enterprise CAL (to use meetings - audio, video, and web conferencing)
– Lync Plus CAL (to use enterprise voice features)
– Enterprise CALs and Plus CALs are additive to the Standard CAL. – CALs are available as either Device CALs or User CALs
– You can mix Device CALs and User CALs in a single environment (e.g Core CAL Device Ent + Lync Enterprise CAL User CAL Add Product)
• CAL required, e.g:
– personal computers (PCs) and – IP phones
• CAL not required:
– Analog devices connected to Lync Server via a 3rd party gateway (analog phones,
analoog fax machines, TTY/TTYD or DECT phones)
– USB only peripheral devices for the PC (headsets, USB speakerphones and handsets)
– Autentimata juurdepääs . CAL-e ei ole vaja kasutajatele ja seadmetele, millel on juurdepääs serveritarkvara eksemplaridele ilma Active Directory või Lync Serveri otsese või kaudse autentimiseta.
