and capabilities in Shopatron. If a user does not have permission to perform a task, the menus and tools associated with that task are not visible when they log in.

You assign permissions using the Permission Group and User Type pull-down menus. Choose the permission group that most closely matches the user’s role in handling your Shopatron account.

The following types of permission groups are available. See the table on page 6 for a side-by-side comparison of group permissions.

Accounting The Accounting group has access to Shopatron’s financial and accounting

features. Its members can view statements, specify banking information, and set the local tax rate.

Permissions:

> Can see and modify company financial data including banking information and statements and financial reports.

> Can see and modify company information, such as Permissions and Additional Locations.

> Can see all orders.

> Can view and process RMAs.

Catalog Admin The Catalog Admin group can manage product catalogs: product

descriptions, product placement, and product categorization. Permissions:

> Can create and maintain product catalogs. > Can change product descriptions.

> Can maintain products category relations Manufacturer

Admin

The Manufacturer Admin group has all permissions. Permissions:

> Can place and modify requests, can view data and reports related to requests.

> Can create and maintain product catalogs. > Can change catalog descriptions.

> Can see partial consumer credit card information. > Can charge orders.

> Can modify orders, including returning orders to available. > Can see and modify company financial data, including banking

information and statements and financial reports. > Can modify product images.

> Can see and modify company information, such as Preferences and Additional Locations.

> Can modify product, category, and catalog descriptions. > Can see and modify email and other marketing text.

> Can add new products and edit all aspects of products, including categories.

> Can specify product availability.

> Can see ready orders, print packing lists, enter and update tracking information, and handle RMAs.

> Can access top-level and super-secret features. > Can see and edit permissions for system users. Manufacturer

Admin Restricted

The Manufacturer Admin Restricted group Permissions:

> Can place and modify requests, can view data and reports related to requests.

> Can see and modify company information, such as Permissions and Additional Locations.

> Can use Precision Mail.

> Can add new products and edit all aspects of products, including categories.

> Can see all orders.

> Can see and edit permissions for system users Manufacturer All

Access

The Manufacturer All Access group has all permissions and can access all the pages, information and merchant features in Shopatron

Permissions:

> Can place and modify requests, can view data and reports related to requests.

> Can create and maintain merchant catalogs. > Can change product descriptions.

> Can see partial consumer credit card information. > Can charge orders.

> Can modify orders, including returning orders to available. > Can see and modify company financial data, including banking

Order Admin

The Manufacturer Order Admin group can access the pages, information, and features needed to manage orders, including those used for

requesting and editing orders, and handling RMAs. Permissions:

> Can place and modify requests and to view data and reports related to requests.

> Can edit orders, including returning orders to available. > Can see all orders.

> Can see ready orders, print packing lists, enter and update tracking information, and handle RMAs

Manufacturer Product Admin

The Manufacturer Product Admin group has access to the pages,

information, and features used to administer products. The product list is their home page. This group can edit all aspects of a product including availability, description, options, and images. They can add new products. They do not have access to catalog-level features.

Permissions:

> Can see and edit company information such as contact info and additional locations. Ability to add new products and to edit all aspects of products including categories.

> Can change product availability.

Marketing The Marketing group has access to marketing-related features, such as

setting email text, confirmation blurbs, and product and catalog descriptions.

Permissions:

> Can change catalog descriptions.

> Can edit product, category, and catalog descriptions. > Can see and edit email and other marketing text. > Can maintain products category relations.

> Can change product descriptions Orders and

Accounting

This group combines the permissions of the Orders and Accounting groups

Permissions:

> Can edit orders including return orders to available.

> Can see and edit company financial data including banking information and statements and financial reports.

> Can see and edit company information such as contact info and additional locations.

> Can see all orders.

> Can see ready orders, print packing lists, enter and update tracking information, and deal with RMAs

Orders and Product Availability

This group combines the permissions of the Orders and Product Availability groups.

Permissions:

> Can edit orders including return orders to available. > Can change product availability.

> Can see all orders.

> Can see ready orders, print packing lists, enter and update tracking information, and deal with RMAs.

Orders and Shipping

This group combines the permissions of the Orders and Shipping groups. Permissions:

> Can edit orders including return orders to available. > Can see all orders.

> Can see ready orders, print packing lists, enter and update tracking information, and deal with RMAs

Product and Catalog Admin

Permissions:

> Can create and maintain merchant catalogs.

> Can change catalog descriptions. Ability to add new products and to edit all aspects of products including categories.

> Can change product availability.

> Can maintain products category relations. > Can change product descriptions

Product Availability Admin

This group has the ability to change the availability of products only. They cannot add new products or edit any other attributes of existing products. When users in this group log in, they go directly to the product list page Permissions:

> Can change product availability Product Image

Edit

The Product Image Edit group has permission to edit product and option images. When users in this group log in, they go to the product list page. Permissions:

> Can edit product images

Rep This group is for merchant reps and allows them to see reports specific to them.

Permissions:

> Can see specialized reports for reps Retailer Product

Admin

The Retailer Product Admin group has access to the merchant product maintenance tools.

Permissions: Ability to add new products and to edit all aspects of products including categories

Shipping The Shipping group has access to the information and features used to

ship orders. When users in this group log in, they go to the ready orders page, where they can print packing lists and enter tracking information. They can also handle RMAs.

Permissions:

> Can see all orders.

> Can see ready orders, print packing lists, enter and update tracking information, and deal with RMAs

XML Auth User The XML Auth User group has no normal access to the site, only to

authenticate. Permissions:
