Reflection:
How do you want the reader to feel when they read you writing?
Here is an example:
Dear Diary,
As I was strolling through the rainforest this morning, I thought to
myself how lucky I was to live in such a beautiful environment. I
closed my eyes and breathed in the warm, humid air and the
perfume of the sweet flowers. I could hear the distant cries of a
tropical bird so I opened my eyes, in a desperate search to see this
magnificent creature. Like a flash of fire, the scarlet wings opened
wide as it glided through the trees. Suddenly, it darted in and out of
the thick, green canopy and then up into the clouds above.
Looking around, I saw the lush, vibrant trees that draped their
branches lazily. Somewhere nearby, I heard babbling water
running over limestone rocks as dragonflies skimmed over the

Lesson 1:
LI: to divide 2-digit and 1-digit number by 10 using concrete materials.
I can identify the place value of the represented numbers. I can demonstrate that the digits move one decimal place to the right when dividing by 10.
I can use concrete materials to investigate dividing a 1- and 2-digit number by 10 using place value grids.
Get a piece of paper and draw a place value grid like this:
Tens Ones Tenths Hundredths
Now, get something at home like rice or pasta to represent your counters.
Create your number in the place value grid. For example 62 will have 6 tens and 2 ones, so place 6 items in the tens and 2 in the ones. Then, divide by ten. Move the objects one column to the left. Write what the new number is.
Try with: e. 85 ÷10 = f. 90 ÷10 = g. 7.1 ÷10 = h. 65 ÷10 =

· Know how to transfer these textures to paper

Year 4 Home Learning
We are going to investigate the different textures of our natural
surroundings. We will look at the textures of bark, leaves. If you can go for a walk to collect some things you think will work nicely in your art. You can collect leaves, daisies, bark, leaves, or anything interesting.
Once you have collected your natural textures it is time to create rubbings, flower pressings, drawings or any other way you wish to use these objects. Use the rubbings to cut out different leaf shapes/ trees that you could find in the rainforest. Keep all these things safe for the next lessons.
Some examples are below.
Remember when collecting things for your natural textures, don’t damage too much nature. Bark rubbings can be done straight from the tree. Wild flowers can be chosen carefully, remembering only one or two. Find fallen leaves where possible. Please leave the natural area the way you found it and take any rubbish home with you.

L.I. To continue to learn and demonstrate an aerobic exercise routine.
● Perform stretches to warm up and prepare body ● Revise boxing body movement and stances ● Explore the sidekick and various arm movements
1. Warm Up: How many jumping jacks/star jumps can you do in 1 minute? Keep that first go as a record and try this again after a 30 second rest. Did you improve your number this second time around?
Paired Warm Up: Knee Tag
With your sibling, face each other in a squat position. On the instruction ‘Go!’, each of you aims to touch the inside of the other’s knee. The first to three touches wins. You must face your opponent at all times, so you cannot turn sideways or turn your back to them.

Quadriceps Stretch – pull your foot up to your back and hold it. Triceps Stretch – arm behind head. Try and keep your back and neck straight as you do this stretch.
3. Let’s try the sidekick, which is good for your coordination and balance. With your hands in the ready position, lean over to the right or left side and kick out from the knee with your foot flat. Practise. See the picture below. Make sure to try BOTH sides, not just one.
4. You are now going to sidestep around in a circle. Turn to the side and do four sidekicks – two (2) on each leg.
5. Repeat the routine you created in Lesson 3 to music, this time adding on the sidekick move and arms actions.
Questions:
Can you think of any other arm actions you could do with the sidekick that you may have learned?
Why is it important to increase the duration (length of time) of exercise in order to increase fitness?
