Salary: £22,534 - £28,492

This post involves teaching and assessing on the L2 and L3 EDEXCEL BTEC Information Technology

programmes and Additional Computing related programmes, across all levels of qualifications offered within the curriculum including full and part time programmes. Your hours of work will be flexible and may include evening and weekends according to student demand. You will be required to undertake course leadership responsibility which entails managing a course team, monitoring attendance, retention and achievement and learner support. The successful candidate will have a related degree level academic/vocational qualification in the relevant curriculum area of Computing and teaching qualification and will be a member of the Institute for Learning (IfL). Job Description Information Technology Lecturer Reports To: Programme Area Leader Grade: SOC Lecturer B Pension: TPS

KEY TASKS:

To teach on a range of courses and levels of provision within the curriculum area and to act as course leader on specifically defined provision and to operate within the college policies and procedures and to ensure that exemplary standards are reached and maintained

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The following are Job Specific responsibilities for this position.

1. To plan, prepare, deliver and assess teaching and learning on a range of provision and levels 2. To act as Course Leader for the FE identified provision as required

3. To maintain all necessary documentation according to FE guidelines and college guidelines and to liaise with moderators and/or external verifiers / examiners as required.

4. To maintain appropriate student records to meet college and FE national standards for learners and courses for which responsible 5. To undertake research and updating as may be necessary to maintain currency of subject knowledge and IfL membership

6. To work as a team member and course leader within the curriculum section, contributing to the development, delivery, assessment and evaluation of provision.

7. To support and assist students with progression planning; applications for employment, higher education and other educational opportunities as appropriate

8. To hold course team meetings to ensure monitoring and maintenance of required standards 9. To provide cover for absent colleagues within agreed parameters

10. To provide course leadership and promote the delivery of high quality teaching and learning so that students of varying ability and differing backgrounds achieve their potential

11. To assist with student recruitment as required and to lead on recruitment to defined provision

12. To track learner progress and to implement interventions to promote high levels of retention, achievement
