Curriculum Development

Some provisions found in the Implementing Guidelines for the SHS Modelling Program: (Enclosure No. 1 to DepEd Order No. 36 s. 2012)

3.2 Grades 11 and 12 Curriculum or the SHS Curriculum is based on two tracks. For the academic track, the curriculum is based on the College Readiness Standards (CSR) given by CHED (Oct. 28, 2011)

The SHS curriculum shall be aligned with the 21st Century Core

Curriculum Development

In addition to the Entrepreneurship subjects offered as separate subjects in tech voc junior HS, advance entrepreneurship skills shall also be offered across all subjects in the Grades 11 and 12. This will prepare and develop the entrepreneurial skills of the students.

3.2 CMO of the different programs under STEM - BS Chemistry

- BS Civil / Computer / Electronics Engineering

- BS Computer Science/ BS Information Technology

- Health Sciences –Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics

COLLEGE READINESS STANDARDS (CRS)

The CRS represent the effort of higher education to share with basic

education the expectations of academic higher learning systems from pre-university education.

The foundational college standards – over-all and by subject

area-will serve basic education graduates by providing the over-all framework of knowledge and capacities they are to possess in order to be prepared for university life.

The CRS serve as the partial basis of the curricula of Grades 11 and

Based on CHED’s College Readiness Standards, CHED Technical Panels

and Committees identified and defined the following:

1.The current mix of Gen. Ed. courses that are remedial character of

pre-college courses and channelled this down to Grades 11 and 12.

2. SHS subject areas specific to the college track considering the

transferred GE courses and following the spiral progression of

competencies from Preschool to Senior High school and to higher

education.
